Acoustic Eggbox panels
What are Acoustic Panels?
At Advanced Seals & Gaskets (ASG), we specialise in converting and supplying a wide range of non-metallic sheet materials, including high-quality polyurethane foam. One of our standout products is acoustic convoluted polyurethane foam, often referred to as acoustic panel foam or acoustic crate foam.
These panels are crafted in block form and carefully split into precise thicknesses to create acoustic foam sheets. Using a specialised splitter, the panels are given a convoluted surface with distinctive peaks and troughs, enhancing their sound absorption capabilities.
Our acoustic panels come in various thicknesses, measured from the base to the tip of each peak, typically ranging from 25mm to 50mm. Standard sheets measure 2 meters by 1.2 meters, but we also offer custom sizes to suit bespoke applications. For additional versatility, acoustic panel foam can be supplied in full sheets or converted into pads, gaskets, or other custom shapes using our in-house presses, bandsaws, and CNC machines.
Finishing options include laminations, coatings, foils, and self-adhesive applications, providing customers with tailored solutions for soundproofing, packaging, or industrial needs.
Additional Services: Foam can be cut to size and shape, and we can accommodate custom sales units. Orders can be placed via phone at 01384 252555 or email at sales@advancedseals.co.uk.

What are Acoustic Panels?
Acoustic convoluted polyurethane foam is an open-cell material engineered with continuous peaks and troughs. This convoluted design maximises surface area, significantly improving echo reduction, reverberation control, and overall sound absorption.
Our acoustic panels are infused with flame-retardant additives, achieving a Class ‘O non-flammable rating, making them safe for a variety of applications. These panels are ideal for:
- Recording studios – Reduce echo and improve sound clarity
- Home theatres – Enhance music and audio quality
- Offices and meeting rooms – Maintain confidentiality and reduce noise.
- Industrial applications – Lower background noise and improve working conditions
Acoustic panels absorb and diffuse sound waves, reducing unwanted echoes and background noise. This improves speech intelligibility, ensures clearer communication, and enhances the overall acoustic quality of a room or space.
By controlling reverberation, acoustic panels make conversations clearer, particularly in offices, call centres, and conference rooms, helping people understand each other without strain or repetition.
Acoustic panels are essential in recording studios, home theatres, and music rooms. They help create a more accurate and enjoyable listening environment, delivering balanced acoustics and reducing sound distortion.
In workplaces where sensitive conversations occur, acoustic panels prevent sound from travelling between rooms, enhancing privacy and supporting a focused, professional environment.
Excessive noise contributes to mental fatigue and stress. Acoustic panels create a quieter, more comfortable environment, promoting well-being, productivity, and concentration for occupants.
Certain industries and workspaces are required to adhere to noise level regulations. Acoustic panels help companies meet these standards, thereby avoiding legal issues and maintaining safe acoustic environments.

DID YOU KNOW?
Why use Acoustic Panels?
Acoustic panel foam sheets, also known as convoluted acoustic foam sheets or acoustic crate foam, enjoy widespread popularity for various applications. They are commonly used in packaging, particularly as case inserts, and are equally valued for sound control in spaces such as cinemas, music studios, or machinery enclosures.
Characterized by its soft texture, acoustic panel foam is easily cut and exhibits excellent adhesive retention, making it suitable for adhering to walls and ceilings. Additionally, it boasts a class ‘O’ flammability performance, ensuring its safety for use in both building and automotive applications.
Advantages of Using Acoustic Panels
Acoustic panel foam sheets present a range of benefits and applications, crafted from an open-cell material that is soft, flexible, and incorporates flame retardant additives, adhering to UL94 HF1 standards.
These acoustic panel PU foam sheets excel in sound absorption, thanks to their textured surface profile, creating an expanded surface area that efficiently disperses waves compared to flat-surfaced alternatives.
Beyond sound control, our acoustic panel foams serve as effective packaging or case inserts for securely transporting irregularly shaped or delicate items. The convoluted foam's interlocking layers provide cushioning, abrasion resistance, and impact protection.
Acoustic convoluted panel polyurethane foam finds applications in HVAC systems, machinery enclosures, compressors or generators, sound insulation panels, as well as in automotive and marine settings. Cutting acoustic convoluted panel foam is a straightforward process using scissors, knives, or press tools.
