Sponge, foam and rubber pads can be manufactured here at Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd using materials sourced from a host of manufactures and include an extensive range of high quality solid silicone rubber rolls of materials in a choice of grades, one of which is our Platinum Cured Silicone Pads.
Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber is manufactured as continuous rolls of material usually in widths of 1.2 or 1.4meters and roll lengths of 5meters or 10meters depending on the material thickness which range from 0.5mm to 2mm, but as this solid rubber can be extruded, bespoke thicknesses to order, all of which can be cut down into pads.
Regardless of the size and quantity of Platinum Cured Silicone pads required, we have a number of presses, bandsaws or CNC machines which can be used to manufacture the final product. From one-off samples to multiple 1000 batch runs, which depending on the pad size can be supplied as loosely cut parts, or kiss-cut on rolls where a high quantity is required or for use on fast paced assembly lines.

What are Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber Pads?
Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber Rolls are continuous lengths of material ranging from 5 meters to 10 meters long, available in thicnknesses of 0.5mm through to 2mm.
Using a selection of in-house machinery ASG can produce square or rectangular Platinum Cured Silicone Pads with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval shaped pads or ‘discs’. Manufacturing pads in-house means we can offer the option to supply them in a plain or self adhesive backed finish and even laminate multiple types of material together to create bespoke and unique variations.
Unlike many traditional Peroxide cured materials and rubber products, during the formulation of Platinum Cured Silicone, peroxides aren't used as part of the catalysing process. When using peroxides, traces can often remain in the raw material causing contamination and so silicone manufactured using Platinum Curing and the components cut from them are a more popular choice in industries including medical, food, drink or dairy applications as it is considered a cleaner/purer product. Platinum cured silicone rubber pads are also translucent in colour and appearance - again perfect for the food and drink industries where visibility is crucial, it is also non-toxic and non yellowing.

It’s an extremely flexible and durable material offering good weathering, UV and Ozone resistance. Platinum Cured Silicone pads are used as a type of seal, where they can create air or liquid tight seals, as gap fillers for uneven surfaces. They can also be used to reduce friction between moving parts.
