Nitrile Insertion Rubber Pads
One of thousands of parts and components available from Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd include Solid Nitrile Insertion Rubber Pads. This material is manufactured in roll form usually at 1.4mtrs wide x 10mtrs long and in thicknesses starting at 1 mm from which pads can be cut or pressed, supplied in a plain or self-adhesive finish using our in-house conversion and laminating service.
Our on-site range of machinery include bandsaws, presses, kiss cut presses and a CNC oscillating knife, all of which can be used to produce pads to meet our customer exact specification and in the quickest, most cost effective way, using their samples or drawings as a guide. Nitrile insertion rubber pads can be taken in pre-cut, finished parts, or alternatively the material can be taken in roll or sheet form, allowing customers to cut their own pads down to size as and when they’re needed.

What Are Solid Nitrile Insertion Rubber Pads?
Nitrile rubber is sometimes also referred to as Nitrile butadiene or NBR rubber, which is a synthetic rubber produced from a copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene, solid nitrile insertion rubber is a manufactured to the same specification as standard nitrile rubber giving the pads the same excellent properties, but with a mesh/fabric reinforcement layer running through the centre which is referred to as the ‘insertion’, used to prevent the material from stretching, therefore increasing its wear and tear resistance.
Using in-house machinery ASG are able to produce pads as squares or rectangles with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval shaped pads or ‘discs’, in a range of thicknesses, which can be used for sealing, cushioning, gap filling, reduce vibration and abrasion.
Why Use Solid Nitrile Insertion Rubber Pads?
Nitrile insertion rubber pads are used as they offer a countless number of excellent properties and are excellent for using as air, dust and water tight seals.
They have an excellent tensile strength, anti- abrasion properties and resistance to petrol, mineral & vegetable oils and some acids and alkalis. The material also has some flame retardancy, and a working temperature range of -20°C to +70℃, usually manufactured in a 65° shore hardness (the shore hardness is measured using a shore durometer which indicates the level of resistance to indentation ,the higher number on the scale indicate a greater resistance - harder the material/lower number indicate less resistance- softer the material).
Benefits Of Using Nitrile Insertion Gaskets:
- Resistant to many chemicals and solvents
- Suitable for automotive industries
- Water, mineral oil, petrol resistance.
- Can be formed into complex seals and extrusions
- Abrasive resistant and excellent mechanical strength
- Excellent seal against gasses
- Tear and stretch resistance
Different Grades
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd have a network of material suppliers and manufacturers, meaning we have access to various grades of insertion rubber which include:
SBR Insertion rubber (Styrene-butadiene rubber) is a cost effective, commercial grade, general purpose rubber with good abrasion resistance, tensile strength and low compression set. SBR rubber is not suitable for applications involving chemicals, ozone, very strong acids, grease, fat oils and hydrocarbons
Neoprene insertion rubber (CR) Solid Neoprene is one of our most popular solid rubber materials, with various thicknesses held in stock. Neoprene is suitable for use where there is exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone and even sea water.
Solid EPDM insertion rubber (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) another very popular solid rubber is great for use in outdoor applications. This material is resistant to water, UV, ozone, weather, abrasion, alkalines, ketones and diluted acids.
Advantages of Using Acoustic Foam Gaskets
Solid Nitrile Insertion rubber pads are mainly used for the materials resistance to ‘swell’ when exposed to oils and fuel, therefore holding its sealing capabilities and not breaking down, making it a popular choice for the production of automotive sealing, abrasive applications, flange gaskets on pipes and tanks, oil and fuel seals, insulating and isolation barriers. Industries where these pads can be found include mining, quarrying, construction, automotive, oil, gas, defence, etc.
Pads are generally cut from rolls or sheets produced at standard thicknesses, meaning they can usually be turned around within a fairly minimal lead time as there is no need for the material to be split to thickness. Depending on the size and quantity of pads required, ASG will select the best machine to quickly and accurately convert the pads in the most cost effective way.
