Anti-Static Foam Sheet
Anti-Static Foam Sheet
Polyethylene foams are generally manufactured in roll or block form, they are a group of very durable materials, which can be manufactured in a range of colours, densities and grades for use in many different applications, including sealing, gap filling, cushioning and insulation as well as used to create different products including anti static polyethylene foam sheets.
One of the grades available from ASG is Anti Static Polyethylene, sometimes also called Ethafoam which is recognisable by its pink colour, manufactured in roll or sheet form in a range of thicknesses up to 50mm, making conversion easier and lead times shorter.
As we offer an in-house conversion and lamination service, we are able to not only split down standard sheets to create other non- standard thicknesses, but we can also laminate layers together to create greater depths and join sheets together to create bespoke roll lengths.
Using these sheets of material, we are able to convert Anti Static Polyethylene into a range of other products including anti static polyethylene foam sheets, pads, strips, washers, gaskets and even into bespoke case inserts, or supplied in a plain finish or laminated with a choice of foils or self adhesives.

What Are Anti Static Polyethylene Foam Sheets
Polyethylene materials are often manufactured in sheet or roll form consisting of various lengths and thicknesses, with Anti Static Polyethylene foam (Ethafoam) being just one of many materials in this range.
Anti static PE foam is a pink coloured (dyed), non-cross linked, closed cell, polyethylene, combined with an antistatic agent (surfactant), designed for the packaging and transportation of static sensitive electronic components and devices such as circuit boards, computer chips, etc as it doesn’t generate static charge when it rubs against itself or other surfaces. If non-standard sheet thicknesses or lengths are required, our in-house conversion service can split and cut the material down or join anti static polyethylene foam sheets together to create bespoke sized sheets to suit.
Why Use Anti Static Polyethylene Foam Sheets?
When transporting fragile or expensive products and where protective packaging is vital in protecting the goods from damage, anti-static polyethylene foam sheets is one of the most popular choices of packaging foam.
This is also true for electronic components which are static sensitive which can become unusable if stored or shipped within inadequate packaging where the foam or material used wouldn’t break down static charges caused by friction, human interaction or other items in the box. As with all polyethylene foams, these anti static polyethylene Foam sheets offer protection from impact, moisture and corrosion, but with the benefit of the anti-static agents added to the raw compound.
Alternative Packaging Foams
- Convoluted or Eggbox Polyurethane
- Pick & pluck Polyurethane
- Static Dissipative Polyethylene
- Anti-static Polyurethane
- Plastazote foam
Advantages Of Using Anti Static Polyethylene Foam Sheets
Customers can benefit from using anti Static Polyethylene foam sheets, as the materials used to manufacture these anti static polyethylene foam sheets can offer many advantages to customers and end users with properties including excellent strength and tear resistance, high shock absorbency, resistance to chemicals and grease and being closed cell doesn’t support mould and bacteria growth or moisture absorption.
Pink anti-static polyethylene foam sheets are available in many thicknesses which can be used to line boxes and cases or cut down into perfectly fitting profiles and case inserts in order to fully secure and protect the products from movement, impact and most importantly damage from static charge, which in return saves customers and end-users money on having to replace damaged products.
Applications in which anti static polyethylene foam and components cut from these sheets can be used include packaging electrical and surgical equipment, insulation for glazing and HVAC and automotive insulation, etc.
Benefits Of Using Anti Static Polyethylene Foam
- Lightweight for lower transport costs
- A soft material which offers cushioning
- Can easily wrap around awkward shapes for added protection
- Reduces cost of replacing damaged items
- Closed cell material protects goods from moisture damage
- Can be used in roll or sheet form, or cut into bespoke case inserts from better fit
