At Advanced Seals & Gaskets (ASG), we manufacture and supply a wide selection of sheeting materials, including Class O acoustic foam sheets. Using our in-house, state-of-the-art splitting machinery, we can cut foam blocks into high-quality sheets with precision. This process ensures shorter lead times, competitive pricing, and consistent quality tailored to our customers’ specifications.

Because our Class O acoustic foam sheets are cut directly from master blocks, we can supply 2m x 1m sheets in thicknesses of up to 100mm without the need for lamination. These can be supplied plain or with a self-adhesive backing for easier installation. For specialist applications requiring additional performance, we also laminate Class O acoustic foam to other materials such as foil or solid rubber.

Our acoustic foam sheets are widely used across industries, including HVAC, construction, automotive, and engineering. They can also be cut into smaller components such as pads, gaskets, or washers to suit more technical applications.

What is Acoustic foam?

Acoustic foam is a type of open-cell polyurethane material, with Class O acoustic foam being one of the most effective for noise control. It is lightweight, flame-retardant, non-dusting, and resistant to mildew, offering both excellent thermal insulation and sound absorption.

Rather than eliminating sound, acoustic foam reduces reverberation by attenuating sound waves. The foam captures the energy from sound vibrations and dissipates it as heat, significantly lowering the amplitude of reflected noise from walls, ceilings, and floors.

Different Grades

We stock a variety of sheeting grades for acoustic applications, with Class O acoustic foam being the most popular due to its combination of flame retardancy and soundproofing performance. Its lightweight and flexible properties make it ideal for duct lining, pipe lagging, engine room insulation, and automotive soundproofing.

For assistance in selecting the most suitable grade for your project, our experienced sales team is available to provide guidance.

Why use Acoustic foam sheets?

Class O acoustic foam sheets are commonly used for both thermal and acoustic insulation across a broad range of industries, including construction, engineering, HVAC, and automotive.

They provide excellent sound absorption alongside strong fire resistance and thermal properties, making them compliant with strict building and safety regulations. Being dust-free and resistant to tearing under high airflow, Class O acoustic foam is particularly suitable for use in filtration, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Its versatility also allows easy cutting and shaping, making it perfect for use in generators, appliances, machinery, and vehicles.

The Advantages of Using Acoustic Foam Sheets

The advantages of acoustic foam sheets include their flexibility, durability, and ability to be cut into various shapes. Class O foam offers superior fire resistance and thermal protection, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including pipe lagging, HVAC ductwork, ceiling panels, and floor cushioning.

By reducing echo and controlling sound levels, acoustic foam enhances sound quality in rooms while lowering noise pollution in surrounding areas. Its non-toxic and non-dusting composition ensures a safe and clean solution that does not support fungal growth. Additionally, its flexibility allows it to be easily applied to curved or irregular surfaces, such as pipes or machinery housings.
