Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd work with a multitude of reputable material manufacturers and suppliers, enabling us to offer a range of materials in many grades, densities and colours.  One of the more popular materials includes various grades of PVC Foam, one of which includes Fruit Protection PVC Foam, sometimes also called Fruit Selection or dual-density foam. 

Fruit Protection is a closed-cell, dual-density foam, featuring a high density and hard-wearing skin on one side, which has a number of excellent mechanical properties, used widely for linings, insulation, sealing and manufacturing conveyor belts.  Fruit Selection PVC Foam is manufactured in roll form with a choice of thicknesses between 5.5mm and 7.5mm, which can be cut down and supplied as cut sheets at 1 meter or 2 meters in length.  

As we offer in-house conversion and lamination services, we can not only split PVC materials down to non-standard thicknesses, we can also laminate layers together to create composite sheets and apply a choice of self-adhesives or foil facings.  Our onsite facilities consist of a number of presses, log cutters, strippers, bandsaws and CNC machines from which we can produce a number of PVC Foam products including gaskets, washers, strips, pads and fabrications using these sheets.

What are Fruit Selection PVC Foam Sheets?

Fruit Selection PVC Foam is made up of PVC and Polyurea compounds which are combined, heated until it expands and then cured, creating a closed-cell, dual-density foam with a smooth, hard-wearing skin on one face, designed to seal against air, dust and liquids and to be easy to clean. 

This material is manufactured in roll form but can be cut down and supplied as sheets at 1 meter or 2 meters in length.

    Fruit Selection PVC Foam sheets offer all the mechanical properties of the other PVC Foam which include UV resistance, low-level water absorption, dimensional stability and is used to construct seals against air, dust and liquids, gaskets, vehicle and saddle linings. 

    One of the benefits of using Fruit Selection PVC Foam sheet is the dual-density, which makes the material perfect for use as conveyor belting or production line surface coverings for use with softer products such as fruit and veg, whereby the harder skin offers resistance to wear and abrasion, and the softer foam allows for product sorting without causing damage, being closed-cell and moisture impermeable it is easy to keep clean.
