Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets
Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets
ASG are recognised as one of the UK’s leading sponge, rubber and plastics converters, but also as suppliers of sheets of material, sourced and stocked from a multitude of high quality material manufacturers, allowing us to offer a range of materials in many grades, densities and colours.
One popular type of sheets we can supply include various grades of PVC Foam, such as Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets. Slow Recovery PVC is a closed cell, low density foam which has a number of excellent mechanical properties, used widely for sealing and insulation. Slow Recovery PVC Foam is manufactured and stocked in roll form with a choice of thicknesses between 2mm and 20mm, roll widths of 1 meter or 1.4 meters and rolls lengths of up to 130 meter long depending on the thickness, which can be supplied in full or cut down and supplied as sheets in 1 meter or 2 meter lengths.
Our in-house lamination service means we can not only split PVC foam sheets materials down to non-standard thicknesses, but we can also laminate layers together to create greater depths, laminate to other types of material or apply a choice of self adhesives or foil facings.

What Are Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets?
Most PVC Foams are made up using the same formulation of PVC and Polyurea compounds, which are mixed and heated until they expand, then cured to produce the finished foam material. The density of the final material is determined by the timings of the expansion and curing processes. This manufacturing process creates continuous lengths or rolls of a closed cell, low density foam, perfect for sealing against air, dust and liquids. Slow Recovery PVC Foam rolls are produced using the above process, resulting in a material which ‘recovers’ or bounces back slowly following compression and which can easily be converted into a number of finished products.
Why Use Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets
Slow Recovery PVC Foam sheets offer many of the properties of the other PVC Foam which include UV resistance, low level water absorption, dimensional stability and can be used to construct seals against air, dust and liquids, but they also offer a slower recovery following compression.
Slow recovery PVC Foam sheets are lightweight, flame retardant and durable, with the addition of a Slow Recovery property making them perfect for cutting into moisture seals and or as components for use within filtration systems or where there are irregular shaped gaps or surfaces which will take longer to manipulate to fit into position, allowing time for perfect placement of the seal.
Slow Recovery PVC foam is often taken in sheet form, as they can be used to cover larger surfaces and allow customers the flexibility to cut their own parts as and when required.
Benefits Of Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam
- Extra lightweight
- Recovers slowly following compression
- Can be laminated or split to non-standard thicknesses
- Highly moisture resistant
- Flame retardant
- Can be easily cut into a range of products
- Excellent dust and moisture seal
Advantages Of Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets
Using Slow Recovery PVC Foam sheets offer countless advantages over other foams including good acoustic and flammability properties, as well as resistance to ozone, UV, rot and mould growth and solvents making them popular for use in the production of components for sealing, insulation, cushioning and filtration applications such as rooflight seals, glazing pads and refrigeration seals.
The reduced recovery time of these sheets of material to be used for cutting into components for use to create a tight fitting and secure seal as it allows the user time to manipulate and perfectly fit the seal into position.
Slow Recovery PVC foam sheets are available in a range of pre-manufactured thicknesses, ready to be shipped they can be cut down into usable finished products such as gaskets, washers, strips or pads where they are utilised in the automotive, construction, electronics, HVAC and stationery industries. Using sheets of slow recovery PVC foam allows for customers to save money and reduce waste by taking small amounts of material where a full roll isn't required.
