Amongst our vast range of standard solid rubber sheet materials, Advanced Seals & Gaskets also offer a number of rubber matting products in various grades, sometimes also called floor matting, each with characteristics suited for different applications. One type of matting we can offer is Pyramid Rubber Matting, which is manufactured in continuous roll form usually at 1200mm wide by 10 meters long, from which sheets can be cut at 1 meter or 2 meters in length, making the material perfect for installation in large or small areas. Our in-house conversion and cutting services allow customers the option of taking the sheets in their complete form, or to be cut down into small pads or a specific shape or size for easier fitting and installation.

What are Pyramid Rubber Matting Sheets?
Pyramid Rubber Matting sheets, as the name suggests is matting produced with lots of tiny ‘pyramid shaped’ nodules on the surface, proving an extremely effective non-slip surface, even when wet. Pyramid rubber matting sheets are often used for high footfall ramps or steps. Pyramid matting sheets are generally manufactured using NR/SBR, but can also be made in alternative compounds such as Nitrile, EPDM, or Neoprene, which offer different properties for use in different applications such as where fire, oil or electrical insulation or resistance is required.
Why use Pyramid Rubber Matting Sheets?
Rubber matting sheets are used as an all round hard wearing, general purpose, easy to clean, non-slip and non-trip flooring for walkways. Pyramid Rubber Matting sheets also provide anti-fatigue properties for operators standing for long periods of time and can be often found used in wet areas, on wooden play areas and equipment (such as on stairs and walkways), etc. When taken in sheet form, customers can use the material to cover large surfaces, or cut the sheets down into smaller pads to cover small spaces or work tops as and when they’re needed.
Types of Matting Available
Anti-fatigue matting is designed as non-slip floor covering for use at workstations or production lines where individuals would be standing for long periods of time, where the composition of the mats reduces stress on muscles and joints.
Broad (wide) Ribbed Rubber matting – is used for commercial and industrial applications offering an anti-slip, anti-fatigue, floor to foot insulation that is easy to clean.
Cattle matting is non-slip even when wet, they’re none absorbent and provide insulation from the cold floor. These mats are manufactured with a hollow pattern on the underside to allow for drainage and easy cleaning, making them a hygienic sheet for use with livestock.
Electrical matting is used for insulation, stopping or reducing electrical currents – therefore minimising the risk of electric shocks occurring. This material has a fine fluted, non-slip surface used in areas where live electrical equipment is present such as control and switchboard rooms.
Fine fluted rubber matting has a ribbed surface, offering a non-slip and anti-fatigue floor covering with good insulation and anti-vibration properties. These mats can be found used on walkways, but also cut down and used on workstation surfaces to provide a non-slip worktop.
Studded rubber matting is used to create non-slip floors and work surfaces in many wet and dry applications and environments.
