Food Quality Neoprene Rubber Sheet
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supply a wide range of neoprene materials, including food-quality solid neoprene rubber (CR) in both rubber and sponge types. These are used to manufacture food-quality solid neoprene rubber sheets, designed for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
The material is produced in roll form, typically 1.4 meters wide and 5 or 10 meters long, with thicknesses ranging from 1 mm to 1.4mm. Rolls can be supplied in whole or cut down into sheets at 1-meter or 2-meter lengths, providing flexibility for storage, transportation, and on-site use.
Our in-house conversion and laminating facilities allow us to produce custom sheets, gaskets, washers, strips, and pads, with options for self-adhesive or foil facings depending on the application.
What are Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Sheets?
Neoprene rubber is a synthetic, tasteless, and odourless material, typically supplied in white to ensure visibility of dirt or contaminants during food and drink production.
These sheets are suitable for high-temperature food applications and where contact with greases, animal, or vegetable fats is expected.
Manufactured in rolls of 5 or 10 meters, these can be cut into food-grade solid neoprene rubber sheets for customers requiring smaller quantities or those who prefer sheets for easier handling and use.

Why Use Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Sheets?
Neoprene rubber for food quality is FDA-compliant, making it safe for use in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications. The white colour aids in detecting foreign objects, while the material remains odourless, ensuring products are not contaminated.
These sheets are water-resistant, preventing mould growth, and offer excellent resistance to high temperatures, oils, greases, and chemicals. Customers can use full sheets to cover large surfaces or cut them down into strips, gaskets, or pads as required.
Benefits of Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Sheets
- Suitable for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications
- Durable even at high temperatures
- Abrasion-resistant for long-lasting performance
- Impermeable to water, preventing mould growth
- Resistant to greases, oils, and animal/vegetable fats
- Good mechanical strength for demanding environments
Advantages of Using Food Quality Solid Neoprene Rubber Sheets
Food-grade neoprene rubber combines the chemical and physical properties of standard neoprene with enhanced tensile strength and temperature resistance, achieved by adding specific compounds.
Its white, odourless formulation makes it ideal for detecting contaminants in food and drink, while providing resistance to animal and vegetable fats, oils, and greases.
Common applications include:
- Food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processing and packaging
- Seals, gaskets, and O-rings
- Oven seals
- Drink pumps and related machinery
Different Grades of Solid Neoprene Rubber
ASG offers a variety of neoprene rubber grades:
- Standard Neoprene (CR): Suitable for exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone, and seawater, available in shore hardness 40°–80°.
- Flame Retardant Neoprene Rubber Sheets: Can withstand -30°C to +100°C, meeting UL94-V0 flammability standards and ISO 340. Also anti-static tested to BS 490.
Neoprene Insertion Rubber (CR): Designed for similar applications with enhanced flexibility and chemical resistance, widely used in industrial, food, and pharmaceutical settings.
