Neoprene Insertion Rubber Sheets

Neoprene Insertion Rubber Sheets

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supply a wide range of high-quality solid rubber materials, including neoprene insertion rubber sheets. Manufactured in roll form at 1.4 meters wide by 10 meters long with thicknesses starting at 1.5mm, these sheets can be supplied as full rolls or cut to bespoke sheet sizes, typically 1 meter or 2 meters in length. More smaller or custom-sized sheets and pads are also available upon request.

Using our on-site conversion facilities, which include bandsaws, presses, kiss-cut machines, slitters, log cutters, and oscillating knives, we can cut neoprene insertion sheets into gaskets, washers, strips, and pads for various applications. Sheets offer flexibility for customers requiring ample surface coverage or the ability to cut their own components as needed.

What Are Neoprene Insertion Rubber Sheets?

Neoprene insertion rubber is a synthetic rubber material similar to standard neoprene but enhanced with a mesh or fabric reinforcement layer, referred to as the ‘insertion’.

    This reinforcement layer improves:

    • Tensile strength and wear resistance

    • Durability under physically demanding conditions

    • Resistance to stretching during use or conversion

Neoprene insertion sheets are highly durable, maintaining their flexibility over a wide temperature range (-20°C to +110°C), with excellent resistance to oil, moderate chemicals, UV, ozone, and weathering. They can be cut from rolls and supplied as sheets in 1-meter or 2-meter lengths.

Why Use Neoprene Insertion Rubber Sheets?

Neoprene insertion rubber is made from the same compound as standard neoprene but includes a reinforcement layer that enhances durability and wear resistance. This makes it ideal for physically demanding applications where stretching or abrasion might compromise standard neoprene sheets.

    Advantages include:

    • Excellent resistance to chemicals, UV, ozone, and weathering

    • Moderate resistance to animal/vegetable oils and inorganic salts

    • Strong, abrasion-resistant material suitable for mechanical conversion

    • Wide working temperature range of -20°C to +110°C

    Sheets can be converted into:

    • Sleeves and tubes

    • Gaskets and washers

    • Electrical insulation

    • Tank and container seals

    • Window and cable protection

    Benefits of Neoprene Insertion Rubber

    • Ideal for internal and external applications

    • Increased tensile strength and durability compared to standard neoprene

    • Impermeable to water and dust

    • Resistant to oils, chemical greases, and fats

    • Excellent resistance to ozone, ageing, and weathering

    • Can be cut or converted into a wide range of products

    Grades of Insertion Rubber Available

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd work with a vast network of material suppliers to provide several grades of insertion rubber, including:

    • NBR/SBR Insertion (Nitrile): Commercial-grade, general-purpose rubber with resistance to fuels, petroleum, oils, and many solvents, ideal for industrial gasketing.

    • EPDM/SBR Insertion: Hybrid material offering high tensile strength, tear resistance, and excellent weather/ozone durability, used for pipe seals, weather strips, and dust seals.

    • SBR Insertion Rubber (Styrene-Butadiene): Cost-effective, general-purpose rubber with good abrasion resistance and low compression set, suitable for non-chemical industrial applications.

Advantages of Neoprene Insertion Rubber Sheets

Neoprene insertion rubber sheets are widely used across various industries that require durable, strong, and abrasion-resistant materials. They are ideal where exposure to extreme weather, water, salts, oils, greases, UV radiation, ozone, or gases occurs.

The reinforcement layer ensures the material maintains flexibility and chemical resistance, even under high stress or temperature fluctuations. Sheets can be supplied in full sizes or custom-cut components, reducing waste and cost for customers who only require small quantities or bespoke parts.

    Applications include:

    • Boating and marine sealing

    • Industrial insulation

    • Flange gaskets, belts, and sleeves

    • Electrical and engineering components
