Neoprene / EPDM Sponge Strip
At Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, the Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge strip is one of our most popular and versatile products. Often referred to as a gasket strip, foam tape, weatherstrip, or glazing strip, this material provides a practical and long-lasting sealing solution for a wide variety of applications.
As one of our core stock materials, Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge strips are available with minimal lead times. Using advanced cutting and conversion equipment, our highly skilled team produces strips directly from sheet or block material with precision and consistency, ensuring exceptional quality and competitive pricing.
Working to your supplied drawings, samples, or specified dimensions, we can manufacture made-to-measure Neoprene/EPDM sponge strips using a range of in-house equipment, including band saws, strippers, log cutters, and presses. This internal control ensures each product is manufactured to meet our exacting quality standards.
We produce sponge strips that are 1mm thick and 4mm wide, available in pre-cut lengths or continuous rolls up to 50 metres long, depending on thickness. For added versatility, we can also laminate multiple layers to achieve greater depth and supply the final product with either a plain or self-adhesive backing.
What are Neoprene/EPDM Blend Sponge Strips?
At ASG, our Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge strips are manufactured from a closed-cell synthetic rubber that provides reliable sealing performance for industrial, commercial, and outdoor applications. This blended sponge rubber combines the best properties of both materials, offering flexibility, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
The material is designed to absorb vibration and provide excellent acoustic and anti-vibration insulation while maintaining resistance to UV, air, and water. These characteristics make it ideal for use in construction, solar panel manufacturing, HVAC systems, and watertight seals.
Neoprene/EPDM blend strips can be supplied in a range of sizes — from 1mm thick and 4mm wide to continuous rolls over 10 metres in length — and can include a variety of finishes such as adhesive backing, foils, or laminated layers to meet specific requirements.

Why Use Neoprene/EPDM Blend Sponge Strip?
Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge is produced using a precise combination of Polychloroprene (Neoprene) and Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM), resulting in a highly durable, flexible, and cost-effective sealing material.
This closed-cell structure provides resistance against UV, ozone, and weathering, while being dust, air, and water-resistant. It also offers excellent ageing characteristics and resistance to mild acids, with a working temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
With flame-retardant properties meeting UL94 HF1 standards, Neoprene/EPDM blend strips are suitable for both internal and external sealing in HVAC systems, white goods, enclosures, gaskets, and weather seals.
Different Grades
- At Advanced Seals & Gaskets, we work closely with leading manufacturers to stock a wide selection of Neoprene and Neoprene/EPDM blend grades. This ensures our customers benefit from the best performance and value for their specific needs.
- Medium-Density Neoprene Sponge: This product offers a firm, closed-cell structure that creates an air-, dust-, and watertight seal. It provides excellent resistance to ozone, UV, and oxidation without becoming brittle. This grade also resists oil and features flame-retardant properties with a wide temperature range of -40°C to +115°C.
- Firm Grade Neoprene Sponge: Fire tested to FMVSS 302, this higher-density material (180kg/m³ ±25) is suited for heavy-duty sealing applications that require less compression for a secure fit.
- Flame Retardant Neoprene Sponge: Grey in colour, this grade can withstand continuous use from -40°C to +115°C and meets rigorous fire testing standards (FMVSS 302, UL94, AFNOR P9750). It is ideal for construction and transport applications where fire resistance is critical.
The Benefits of Neoprene/EPDM Blend Sponge Strip

- Available in multiple widths, lengths, and finishes
- Excellent weathering, UV, and ozone resistance
- Superior sound and vibration absorption
- Highly durable and resilient material
- Provides effective sealing against air, dust, and moisture
The Advantages of Using Neoprene/EPDM Blend Sponge Strips
Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge strips deliver a perfect balance of performance, value, and versatility. Their excellent compression set resistance ensures long-lasting sealing under load, while the closed-cell construction prevents water, dust, and microbial ingress.
The material also provides acoustic insulation, vibration damping, and resistance to ageing, making it ideal for a wide range of commercial and industrial uses. Because we stock this material in block form, it can be cut or laminated to achieve almost any thickness. Our advanced cutting machinery ensures precision across all widths and lengths.
Whether for gaskets, weather seals, vibration pads, or insulation, Neoprene/EPDM blend sponge strips from Advanced Seals & Gaskets provide a reliable, cost-effective solution for all sealing requirements.
