BS2752 Solid Rubber Washers
BS2752 Solid Rubber Washers
Here at Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, we offer a number of BS2752 rubber washers, using high-quality material and state of the art machinery, our in-house conversion facilities produce a range of BS2752 rubber washers, all made to order and produced by using samples or drawings as a template to ensure the final product perfectly fits the application - even offering a small sample run if required.
Depending on the size and quantity of washers required, our production team will select from our range of atoms, autos, travelling head, kiss cut press machines or for very large or thick washers, we can programme our CNC (oscillating knife) to produce the washers in the most efficient way to keep costs competitive and lead times down.
What are BS2752 Rubber Washers?
BS2752 is a Neoprene (or polychloroprene/CR) synthetic material, which is manufactured to a higher specification to standard grades of neoprene and complying with the British Standard 2752, and offers higher tensile strength and resistance to temperature, available in a range of hardnesses from 40°- 80° shore.
BS2752 washers are a flat ring (comprising of an Outer Diameter (OD), Inner Diameter (ID) and the thickness) cut from a sheet or roll of materials, which is placed between two surfaces creating a level surface, acting as a spacer or between a nut/bolt to spread the pressure when tightened.
They are also used within equipment and machinery between moving parts for vibration dampening, sealing and noise reduction.

Why use BS2752 Rubber Washers?
Customers often choose neoprene BS2752 rubber for their washer material choice due to its list of desirable qualities and properties, making it popular across many industries in countless applications, including where there may be exposure to the ozone, seawater, mineral oils, fuel, grease and dilute acids or alkalis.
BS2752 has a wide working temperature range of -30°C to +110℃ and is a strong material with excellent abrasion, tensile strength and elongation at break properties, often found used within electrical insulations, engineering applications, window sealing, anti-vibration and cable protection, to name a few.
Advantages of Using BS2752 Rubber
Neoprene BS2752 rubber seals are very popular amongst a range of industries due to the number of excellent properties and the choice of hardnesses and seal types available, used where the properties of standard neoprene are required, but with higher mechanical strength and temperature resistance.
BS2752 is a durable, strong, abrasive material, which can be used in environments where exposure or sealing against extreme weather, water, salts, oil grease, UV/Ozone and gases is necessary.
BS2752 rubber is easy to convert into washers and can be used for a broad range of applications from extreme aerospace and defence industries, boating, marine sealing and insulation.
Benefits of Using BS2752 Rubber Washers
- Popular for internal and external applications
- Durable and can be easily converted into a range of washers
- Variety of hardnesses available
- Impermeable to water and dust
- Moderate resistance to oil, chemical greases and fats.
- Excellent resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing
- Improved tensile strength and resistance to temperature compared to standard grades
Different Grades Available
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd work with a multitude of manufacturers, allowing us to offer customers a wider choice of neoprene materials and products, alongside BS2752, we can also offer:
Standard Neoprene (CR) is one of our most popular solid rubber materials, with various thicknesses held in stock. Neoprene is suitable for use where there is exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone and even seawater.
Flame retardant neoprene rubber can handle continuous temperatures of -30°C to +100°C, this material meets the test requirements of the flammability standard UL94-V0 and is in line with ISO 340. Flame retardant neoprene rubber sheets are also tested in accordance with anti-static BS 490.
Food Quality (FDA) neoprene is white in colour and conforms to EC and FDA regulations for use within the food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Properties including resistance to fats, greases and vegetable oils, combined with higher tensile strength and wider working temperature range of -30°C up to +130°C make it a popular material to use.

What are Acoustic Foam Gaskets?
Gaskets are a ring, sheet or cut shape substance or material used to act as a seal between surfaces. The purposes for gaskets of this type are to prevent leakages of liquid or gas, keep joints air-tight and prevent the intrusion of damaging debris such as dust.
Acoustic foam is an open cell, lightweight, class O fire rated polyurethane material that is primarily used in soundproofing applications such as recording studios, and It is a non-fibrous foam meaning the gaskets can be used within airflow systems as the material doesn’t shred, dust or migrate when exposed to high velocity airflow.
Acoustic Foam is resistant to most fungus, mildew and bacteria growth as it contains anti-fungal agents which makes it a popular choice for use within the air conditioning and duct-work systems.
Self-Adhesive Acoustic Foam Gaskets
Class O Acoustic Foam Gaskets can be manufactured with a plain or self-adhesive backing to allow for easy installation and to hold the gasket in place, ensuring it remains stable even if the application moves.
Clients can choose from a selection of adhesives including acrylic, scrim and tissue with low, medium or high tack options, depending upon the individual requirements. Acoustic foam gaskets can also be cut from foam laminated to a range of our other materials using spray adhesives.
Why use Acoustic foam gaskets?
There are various ways in which our customers utilize acoustic foam gaskets, these include sound absorption. Due to its excellent sound dampening properties, acoustic foam gaskets are often used for fittings within marine applications, recording studios, acoustic/compressor or generator enclosures, etc.
Many industries also utilize acoustic foam gaskets for insulation, vibration control and cushioning due to the materials exceptional fire resistance properties (Surface Spread of Flame Class 1 BS 476 part 7 and Building Regulations 1991 (fire safety) Class 0 BS 476 part 6&7).
These include heating & ventilation, construction, automotive, and electrical equipment and appliance manufacturing.
Benefits of Acoustic Foam Gaskets
- Fire Rated:
- Surface Spread of Flame Class 1 BS 476 pt7
- Building Regs 1991 (fire safety) Class 0
- UL94 flammability self-extinguish after removal of flame.
- Non-toxic
- Mildew / Fungus Resistance
- Chemical Resistant
- HCF (hydrochlorofluorocarbon) & CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) free
- Lightweight, flexible & easy to fabricate
Advantages of Using Acoustic Foam Gaskets
Acoustic foam gaskets hold various advantageous properties that are highly utilizable in a variety of industries.
The greatest advantage of using acoustic foam gaskets is the exceptional noise dampening capabilities of the material. As acoustic foam is an open cell material it is highly effective at absorbing sounds as well as cushioning and padding.
Acoustic foam gaskets commonly used as the material performs multiple functions at the same time, while the acoustic foam gasket is applied for cushioning the material will also absorb sound waves dampening the noise.
