EPDM rubber is available in multiple grades and hardnesses, including WRAS-approved EPDM, which is safe for contact with potable water. This makes it ideal for applications involving water for human consumption.
Our WRAS EPDM washers are produced from rolls measuring 1.4 metres wide x 10 metres long with thicknesses starting at 1mm. Washers are cut on-site using drawings or measurements provided by our customers, ensuring that every product meets exact specifications.
We use a range of presses and CNC machinery to manufacture one-off samples or large batch runs, guaranteeing precision, efficiency, and consistent quality for all washer sizes and quantities.
What are WRAS solid EPDM Rubber Washers?
WRAS-approved EPDM washers are manufactured from a safe, high-performance material suitable for potable water applications. The rubber is cloth-finished on both faces, producing an impervious surface that prevents contamination and ensures water remains contained.
These washers are flat rings with an outer diameter (OD) and inner diameter (ID), cut from EPDM sheets or rolls. They are designed to create a level surface, act as spacers, provide seals, or distribute pressure when used with nuts, bolts, or other fittings.

Different Grades Available
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd works with multiple material manufacturers, offering customers a range of specialist EPDM grades:
- FDA Grades – Food-quality EPDM available in blue or white, suitable for food and pharmaceutical processing. Resistant to animal and vegetable oils, non-toxic, and operating from -25°C to +140°C.
- Peroxide Cured – EPDM cured with peroxide instead of sulphur, producing superior heat, chemical, and oil resistance. Ideal for demanding environments, including nuclear and high-performance industrial applications.
