BS2752 Solid Rubber
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd offer an extensive range of high-quality solid rubber materials and converted solid rubber products, one of which is Neoprene - BS2752.
BS2752 is usually manufactured in roll form at 1.4 meters wide x 10meters long, in thicknesses starting at 1mm, which are stocked by ASG ready to be converted into various other products including sheets, gaskets, washers, pads and strips, supplied with a plain or self-adhesive finish using our in-house laminating service.
Neoprene BS2752 can be supplied in pre-cut or moulded finished parts, or in roll and sheet form, giving the customer and end-users the flexibility to cover large surface areas and to be able to cut their parts out as and when they are required.
What is BS2752 Rubber?
BS2752 is a Neoprene (or polychloroprene/CR) synthetic material, which is manufactured to a higher specification to standard grades of neoprene and complying with the British Standard 2752 and offering higher tensile strength and resistance to temperature.
BS2752 neoprene rubber is available in a range of hardnesses from 40°- 80° shore (the shore hardness is measured using a shore durometer which indicates the level of resistance to indentation, the higher number on the scale indicate a greater resistance - harder the material/lower number indicate less resistance- softer the material).

Why use BS2752 Rubber?
Neoprene BS2752 rubber has a range of desirable properties which means it can be used within countless applications, including where there may be exposure to the ozone, seawater, mineral oils, fuel, grease and dilute acids or alkalis.
It has a wide working temperature range of -30°C to +110℃ and is a strong material with excellent abrasion, tensile strength and elongation at break properties. BS2752 can be manufactured or converted into a range of products such as sleeves, belts, tubes, gaskets and washers for use in countless applications including electrical insulations, engineering applications, window seal, anti-vibration and cable protection, to name a few.
Advantage of Using BS2752 Rubber
Neoprene BS2752 rubber is very popular amongst a range of industries due to the number of excellent properties and the range of hardnesses available. BS2752 rubber is used where the properties of standard neoprene are required, but with higher mechanical strength and temperature resistance.
BS2752 is a durable, strong, abrasive material, which can be used in environments where exposure or sealing against extreme weather, water, salts, oil grease, UV/Ozone and gases is necessary.
BS2752 rubber is easy to convert and can be used for a broad range of applications from extreme aerospace and defence industries, boating, marine sealing and insulation - through to being cut into gaskets, belts and sleeves.
Benefits of Using BS2752 Rubber
- Popular for internal and external applications
- Durable
- Variety of hardnesses available
- Impermeable to water and dust
- Moderate resistance to oil, chemical greases and fats.
- Excellent resistance to ozone, weathering and ageing
- Improved tensile strength and resistance to temperature compared to standard grades
Different Grades Available
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd work with a multitude of manufacturers, allowing us to offer customers a wider choice of neoprene materials and products:
Standard Neoprene (CR) is one of our most popular solid rubber materials, with various thicknesses held in stock. Neoprene is suitable for use where there is exposure to grease, oil, acids, ozone and even seawater.
Flame retardant neoprene rubber can handle continuous temperatures of -30°C to +100°C, this material meets the test requirements of the flammability standard UL94-V0 and is in line with ISO 340. Flame retardant neoprene rubber sheets are also tested in accordance with anti-static BS 490.
Food Quality (FDA) neoprene is white in colour and conforms to EC and FDA regulations for use within the food processing and pharmaceutical industries. Properties including resistance to fats, greases and vegetable oils, combined with higher tensile strength and wider working temperature range of -30°C up to +130°C make it a popular material to use.
