Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber
Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd offer high quality silicone rubber materials in a choice of grades, one of which is Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber can be manufactured and supplied as continuous rolls, sheets, pressed components such as washers and gaskets, or extruded in tube form.
Rolls are sheets of platinum cured silicone are available in thicknesses from 0.5mm to 2mm, but as this solid rubber can be extruded, bespoke thicknesses and products can also be made to order.
Our site consists of state of the conversion machinery and a highly skilled workforce which allows us to not only supply bespoke rolls sizes, but using one of many slitters, log cutters, presses, bandsaws or the oscillating knife, we can also convert this raw material into a number of products including sheets or finished products such as washers, pads, strips or gaskets.

What is Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber?
Unlike many traditional Peroxide cured materials and rubber products, during the formulation of Platinum Cured Silicone, peroxides aren't used as part of the catalysing process.
When using peroxides, traces can often remain in the raw material causing contamination and so silicone manufactured using Platinum Curing is a more popular choice in industries including medical, food, drink or dairy applications as it is considered a cleaner/purer product.
Platinum-cured silicone rubber is translucent - again perfect for the food and drink industries where visibility is crucial, it is also non-toxic and non yellowing.
Why use Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber?
Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber is a safe and versatile material popular for use in the food, drinks and pharmaceutical industries. The material itself is easy to convert into a range of products for use in various applications from chutes and sleeves to washers, seals, gaskets and extruded pipes or tubes.
Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber can be used with applications where there is exposure to extreme temperatures offering an operating temperature range of -40°C to +200°C, radiation, corona, moisture and steam.
Tubes made from Platinum Cured Silicone offer high mechanical wear and tear strength and will not harden and corrode like many other rubber tubes. Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber is peroxide free, non toxic and non yellowing. It’s an extremely flexible and durable material offering good weathering, UV and Ozone resistance.
Different Grades
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd have a network of material manufacturers and suppliers, giving our customers more choice, our most popular grades of silicone rubber include:
- High Temperature Silicone
- FDA Approved Silicone
- Metal Detectable Silicone
- Fluorosilicone
- Conductive Silicone
Benefits of Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber
- Peroxide Free
- Non-Toxic
- Non-Yellowing & excellent translucency so more visibility
- Durability with a high tear strength
- Lightweight
- Easy to cut
- Highly hydrophobic
Advantages of Using Platinum Cured Silicone Rubber
There are a number of advantages to using Platinum cured silicone and it is especially popular within the food, beverage and medical industries due it being peroxide free, non-toxic and offering excellent purity.
Platinum cured silicone is also translucent in colour and non-yellowing which makes it perfect for use in sensitive environments as it will not contaminate any food, medicines or liquid it comes into contact with. Platinum-cured silicone's other properties include chemical inertness, higher levels of tensile strength, elongation, and tear strength.
It has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +200°C, can be used in applications where a resistance to radiation, corona, ozone exposure, moisture, and/or steam is desired. The curing process for producing Platinum Cured Silicone is not only peroxide free, but also emits the use of talc - a mineral which has been known to cause health issues. Platinum Cured Silicon can be taken in a range of products including sheets, rolls, tubes and also cut into bespoke components such as washers, gaskets, strip pads and other seals.
