Polyurethane Foam
Polyurethane Foam Gaskets
ASG offers a wide range of polyurethane solid and foam material types in various densities and colours, all of which can be used for gasket production. The quality of the cut and finish of the gasket is just as important as the material used, therefore we ensure our in-house manufacturing team follow our customer’s drawings or samples to create an exact match – whether it’s a simple square picture frame gasket or a more complex shape with cut-outs – we can offer a solution. From a one-off sample to multi-thousand runs, we have a machine to quickly and accurately produce perfectly formed gaskets in a range of sizes, these include a number of presses and CNC machines.
What are Polyurethane Foam Gaskets?
Polyurethane foam is one of the members of the polymer family, it is a low-density foam from which gaskets can be cut and used in a number of vibration dampening, sealing and insulating applications. Various types of gaskets are used for sealing and insulating in many industries, these include polyurethane foam gaskets, which can be in the form of a strip or pad, but are generally an intricately cut shaped piece or ring of material placed between two surfaces.
Why use Polyurethane Foam Gaskets?
Polyurethane foam gaskets are available in a range of colours, thicknesses and densities, all of which suitable for acoustic and thermal conductive applications. Polyurethane foam gaskets offer good sealing properties against air and dust and are resistant to UV and ozone. Polyurethane gaskets can also be produced using specialist grades which include conductive, static dissipative and flame-retardant.
Available Grades
Advanced Seals & Gaskets work with a number of material manufacturers, giving our customers more choice when designing their polyurethane gasket and ensuring we can offer a solution to just about any application. Each type of material has its own range of properties, colours, thicknesses, etc – our most popular include:
- Acoustic
- egg box
- HLB
- Basotech
- Polyester
- Recon
- Retic
- Polyether
Benefits of Using Polyurethane Foam
Polyurethane foams are available in a wide variety, allowing us to manufacture gaskets for use within various applications and industries. Polyurethane foam gaskets perform well across a wide temperature range, have resistance to compression and chemicals, offer good vibration and impact absorption and can be manufactured with extra additives to create specialist grades which include conductive, static dissipative and flame-retardant. Some of the popular uses for polyurethane gaskets include heating & ventilation, automotive, dust sealing and building & construction applications.
