Acoustic Foam Sheet
Benefits of acoustic foam sheets
At Advanced Seals & Gasket, we produce a large array of sheeting material including Class O acoustic foam sheets, which are cut in-house using our state of the art splitting machinery, this allows us to keep our lead times low, prices competitive whilst producing products to meet our customer’s standards. As our Class O acoustic foam sheets are cut from master blocks, we can offer 2mtr x 1mtr sheets in any thickness up to 100mm without laminations, these can be supplied plain or with a self adhesive for ease of application. For more technical applications where a combination of properties is required, we can also laminate Class O acoustic foam sheets to other materials including foil and solid rubber.
Acoustic foam sheets can be found utilised in industries such as HVAC, construction, automotive and engineering, where the sheeting can also be used to cut smaller parts including washers, gaskets and pads.
Benefits of acoustic foam sheets
- Grease Resistance
- Non-toxic, HCF & CFC and Dust Free
- Oil Resistant
- Durable
- Chemical Resistant
- Doesn’t support mildew or fungal growth
Acoustic foam sheets are designed to absorb sound waves, reducing the level of reverberation and echoes in a space. This helps in improving speech clarity, music quality, and overall acoustics.
The primary function of acoustic foam sheets is to reduce noise levels by absorbing and dampening sound energy. This is particularly useful in environments where background noise needs to be minimized for better concentration or communication.
Acoustic foam sheets come in various thicknesses, densities, and designs, making them versatile for different applications. They can be cut into different shapes and sizes to fit specific spaces and requirements.
Acoustic foam sheets are typically lightweight and easy to install. They can be attached to walls, ceilings, or other surfaces using adhesives or other mounting methods. This makes them a convenient solution for both permanent installations and temporary setups.
Acoustic foam sheets are available in various colors and designs, allowing them to contribute to the visual aesthetics of a room. They can be chosen to complement the existing decor or to create a visually interesting pattern.
Acoustic foam sheets are often a cost-effective solution for improving the acoustics of a space. Compared to other acoustic treatments or structural changes, foam sheets are relatively budget-friendly.

What is Acoustic foam?
There are many times of Polyurethane foams, one of which is Class O acoustic. This particular variety of material is open cell, lightweight, flame retardant, non-dusting, doesn’t support mildew or fungal growth, and has s excellent thermal insulation and noise absorption properties.
Class O acoustic foam sheets can be applied in order to reduce sound by controlling the reverberations that sound can make by reflecting off walls, ceilings, and flooring. The material works by attenuating the sound waves, lowering their amplitude to reduce and control the noise, in turn capturing energy from the sound waves and dissipating it as heat. The purpose of acoustic foam is not to totally eliminate sounds, but to help reduce noise and vibration.
Different Grades
We at ASG supply a variety of sheet materials suitable for some acoustic applications, Class O acoustic foam being the most popular where a combination of sound proofing and flame retardancy is required. It is a lightweight and flexible material excellent for use as pipe lagging, duct lining and engine room/automotive insulation and much more. For help deciding which material you require, please give our sales team a call.
Why use Acoustic foam sheets?
Class O acoustic foam sheets are primarily used for noise and thermal insulation applications and can be found used in most industries including engineering, construction, automotive, and HVAC to name a few.
As well as the sound-absorbing properties, Class O acoustic foam is used in many other applications where a material with high performance in fire protection and thermal insulation is required, this makes acoustic foam great for use in the construction and automotive industries where strict regulations apply. As Class O acoustic foam is dust-free, does not tear or migrate when exposed to high-pressure airflow, it is a popular choice for air conditioning, filtration and ventilation systems.
The durable nature of acoustic foam allows customers to cut and shape the material with ease, where they can then be placed within generators, extraction fans, home appliances, etc.
The Advantages of using acoustic foam sheets
There are a great array of advantages for using acoustic sheets for your project, mainly the ability to cut the sheets into a range of other products. The thermal and fire-resistant qualities make it an excellent material for HVAC lining, pipe lagging, floor cushioning, ceiling tiles as well as much more. By using Class O acoustic foam sheets, the end-user can improve sound quality within a room and reduce noise pollution for those living/working nearby. It is also a non-toxic, non-dusting material that doesn’t support fungal growth, perfect for ductwork/ventilation applications, and is flexible so easily applied to curved or misshapen surfaces such as around pipes or inside machinery and vehicles.
