What are Conductive Silicone Sheets?
Conductive silicone sheets are made from carbon-filled silicone, creating a low-amp conductive material that prevents the buildup of static charge (electrostatic discharge).
These sheets fall under the broader category of conductive rubber and are widely used for EMI/RFI shielding, protecting sensitive electronic equipment from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.
Conductive silicone sheets can be supplied as full sheets or pre-cut parts, providing flexibility for manufacturing washers, pads, strips, sleeves, or gaskets to meet project requirements.
Why Use Conductive Silicone Sheets?
Conductive silicone rubber is made by incorporating conductive carbon particles into standard silicone rubber. This process produces a material that maintains silicone's mechanical and thermal properties while providing electrical conductivity.
Key benefits of conductive silicone sheets include:
- Weathering, UV, and ozone resistance
- High flexibility and durability
- Wide operating temperature range (-54°C to +260°C)
- Electrostatic discharge protection
These properties make conductive silicone ideal for applications such as:
- Electronic enclosure shielding
- Connector seals
- Medical device components
- Defence and aerospace applications
- Telecommunications equipment
Conductive silicone sheets can cover large surfaces or be cut into smaller parts, depending on design needs.
Different Grades of Silicone Sheets
Through our network of trusted material suppliers, Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd offer a variety of silicone grades, including:
- High Temperature Silicone – for applications requiring extreme heat resistance
- FDA-approved silicone – suitable for medical and food-related industries
- Metal Detectable Silicone – for contamination prevention in production environments
- Fluorosilicone – resistant to fuels, oils, and chemicals
- Platinum Cured Silicone – offering superior mechanical and thermal properties
Benefits of Conductive Silicone Rubber
