As EPDM sponge is a core stock material, we can produce custom-made strips with minimal lead times. Our skilled workforce uses state-of-the-art machinery to split sheets and rolls from blocks and convert them into strips tailored to your requirements.

Using your samples, drawings, or specified dimensions, we can produce made-to-measure EPDM sponge strips using bandsaws, strippers, log cutters, and presses, depending on the size and quantity required. In-house production ensures consistent quality, competitive pricing, and quick turnaround.

Strips can be cut from as thin as 1mm up to 50mm thick, with widths starting at 4mm and lengths ranging from a few millimetres to 50 meters. We also offer lamination for greater depth, plain strips, or versions with self-adhesive foils or laminated with other materials for specialist applications.

What are EPDM Sponge Strips?

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, a synthetic rubber compound known for strength, flexibility, and closed-cell structure. This makes it ideal for internal and external sealing applications, where minimal compression is required for effective performance.

EPDM sponge strips can be supplied as cut lengths or continuous rolls, functioning in a similar way to gaskets. They are commonly used to:

  • Seal gaps between uneven surfaces

    • Semi-Open Cell EPDM: Combines flexibility with closed-cell sealing once compressed 80%, allowing controlled air, dust, and moisture ingress before sealing.

    • Firm Grade EPDM Foam: High tear strength, more resilient, suitable for automotive, white goods, marine, defence, and construction applications.
