Evazote® foams are closed-cell, cross-linked ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) foams. While visually similar to Plastazote foams, Evazote offers greater strength and resilience due to the additional EVA content.

Evazote foams are created through a copolymerization reaction of vinyl acetate and ethylene, producing a versatile material suitable as an alternative to other foams and plastics. Manufactured in block form, Evazote can be split into sheets starting from 1.5mm thickness, or combined into rolls, which can then be cut into custom foam strips up to 100 meters in length.

Manufacturing Process

Evazote foam strips, gasket tapes, sealing strips, or foam tapes are all made to order using state-of-the-art machinery, including band saws, strippers, log cutters, and presses. For small, high-volume runs, kiss-cutting is available for faster production.

Our in-house production ensures quality control throughout the process, while our on-site laminating service allows us to provide Evazote strips in a variety of finishes, including:

  • Bonded to other materials

    What Are Evazote Foam Strips?

    Evazote foam strips are precision-cut strips or continuous rolls of EVA polyethylene foam, designed to specific lengths and widths. They are commonly used as gaskets, cushioning, or insulation between two surfaces.

    Manufactured in block or bun form, Evazote is produced under high pressure and high temperature, using nitrogen expansion to create a uniform closed-cell structure. This results in a water-repellent, rubbery, and spongy feel, making it ideal for both protective and sealing applications.

    Evazote foam is available in two main grades:

    • EV: Higher vinyl acetate content for greater elasticity

    • VA: Lower vinyl acetate content for firmer performance

    • EV30 – Standard EVA foam strip
