Flame Retardant Plastazote Washers
Flame Retardant Plastazote Foam Washers
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd manufactures and supplies high-quality washers from a range of materials, including Flame Retardant Plastazote (FR Plastazote) foam. This specialist cross-linked, closed-cell polyethylene (PE) foam is available in densities from 15kg to 70kg (LD15FR, LD33FR, LD45FR, LD60FR, LD70FR), making it ideal for flame and heat-resistant applications.
The material is lightweight, odourless, non-toxic, and free from chemical agents, making it suitable for clean environments, including food, pharmaceutical, and scientific applications. Flame Retardant Plastazote is supplied in blocks, which can be split into sheets or rolls of varying thicknesses, starting from 1.5mm, from which washers are precision-cut in-house.
All washers are made to order using dimensions, samples, or drawings supplied by customers, ensuring a perfect fit for any application. Our advanced machinery, including presses, kiss-cut machines, and CNC oscillating knives, allows us to produce washers efficiently for both small and large quantities.

What Are Flame Retardant Plastazote Foam Washers?
Flame Retardant Plastazote foam is a cross-linked, closed-cell polyethylene material with nitrogen-filled cells that provide excellent compression recovery. Each cell acts like a small balloon, allowing the foam to bounce back to its original shape after impact or compression.
This closed-cell structure is impenetrable to air and moisture, making it ideal for cushioning, sealing, and insulating applications.
Flame Retardant Plastazote washers are flat rings with an Outer Diameter (OD), Internal Diameter (ID), and thickness, cut from sheets or rolls. They provide a level surface, acting as spacers between nuts, bolts, or components, and help distribute pressure evenly when tightened.
Why Use Flame Retardant Plastazote Foam Washers?
Customers choose Flame Retardant Plastazote foam washers because they combine the excellent properties of standard Plastazote with flame-retardant additives. These washers are an economical alternative to materials like EPDM or Neoprene sponge.
The foam is lightweight, chemically resistant, and recovers well from impact and compression, making it suitable for:
- Gap filling and irregular surface sealing
- Reducing rattles, vibration, and noise
- Sealing against air, dust, gas, and liquids
- Cushioning moving components to prevent wear and damage
Our in-house production capabilities allow us to manufacture washers in bespoke sizes, small batches, or high-volume runs, maintaining high-quality standards and fast turnaround.
