Flame Retardant Silicone Sponge Sheet
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd works with a vast network of material manufacturers, enabling us to offer an extensive range of high-quality sponge and solid silicone materials, including Flame Retardant Silicone Sponge.
Flame-retardant silicone sponge is manufactured in 915mm wide continuous rolls of varying lengths depending on the grade and thickness required. These can be cut down to 1- or 2-meter-long sheets, or even more miniature sheets or pads. Thicknesses range from 0.8mm to 25.4mm, depending on density.
As our onsite facilities house a range of state-of-the-art conversion machinery, including presses, CNC machines, slitting machines, and log cutters, we can supply this material as complete sheets or cut into various parts, including cut strips, pads, washers, and gaskets. All products can be provided with foil or self-adhesive backing.
What are Flame Retardant Silicone Sponge sheets?
Flame-retardant silicone sponge sheets have all the properties of standard silicone sponge, but with additional additives to create a superior flame-retardant product.
The sponge compound is chemically expanded and heat-cured to form a closed-cell structure, combining the performance benefits of solid silicone with the flexibility, softness, and conformability of sponge.
Sheets can be supplied as pre-cut parts or as full rolls for customers to cut into their own sheets or components as required.

Why use Flame Retardant Silicone Sponge sheets?
Flame-retardant silicone sponge uses the same formulation as standard silicone sponge but offers improved mechanical properties, including:
- Enhanced tear and tensile strength
- Increased abrasion resistance
- Resistance to environmental factors, including ozone, UV, frost, and weathering
Flame-retardant silicone sponge sheets are suitable for extreme-temperature applications, as well as for vibration, sound, and thermal insulation, cushioning, and sealing.
Sheets can be converted into finished products such as gaskets and washers, or taken as full rolls for customers to cut their own parts.
Key Benefits of Flame Retardant Silicone Sponge
- Multiple grades and densities to meet different standards
- Resistant to weathering, UV, and ozone
- Wide operating temperature range
- Easy to cut into different parts
- Compatible with self-adhesive and foil backings
- More durable than standard silicone sponge
What are the advantages of using Flame Retardant Silicone Sponge sheets?
Flame-retardant silicone sponge sheets are chosen for their excellent UV and ozone resistance, making them suitable for both internal and external applications.
- Wide operating temperature range from -55°C to +200°C (higher grades available on request)
- A closed-cell structure provides effective sealing against water, air, and dust.
- High compression set resistance, allowing the material to return to its original shape after compression
- Exceptional insulation, cushioning, and anti-vibration properties even in harsh environments
Different Densities Available
- Medium: Excellent shape memory and low stress relaxation; ideal for gaskets
- Firm: High tear resistance and superior tensile strength, perfect for durable sealing
- Extra Firm: Greater conformability and even pressure distribution; used for press pads and heat transfer applications
- Extra Soft: Open-cell, highly compressible, suitable for sealing enclosures and protecting electronics
- Ultra Soft: Highly conformable, fits into awkward gaps, excellent shape memory under long-term compression
