Fluorosilicone Strip
Fluorosilicone Strip
Cut strip products are one of the most popular items supplied by ASG with thousands being manufactured daily using a range of materials including silicone, which are sourced from high quality manufactures from across the world with Fluorosilicone rubber (used to manufacture Advanced Seals and Gaskets fluorosilicone silicone rubber strips) being one of the more specialist grades.
Fluorosilicone rubber is manufactured and stocked in continuous rolls at 915mm wide and in thicknesses ranging between 0.5mm and 3.2mm which can be converted into cut strips. Fluorosiclione rubber strips are made to order, manufactured using one of our many machines including band saws, strippers, log cutters and even presses depending upon the size and quantity required - for very small strips in high volume runs, a kiss-cut option may also be available for faster production and time efficiency for the end user.
On-site production allows us to closely oversee the whole production process to ensure that we consistently produce high quality, competitively priced strips.

What Are Fluorosilicone Silicone Rubber Strips?
Fluorosilicone rubber strips are pieces of the material often cut to a specific width, in pre-cut lengths or continuous coils as requested by our customers, often used in a similar way to a gasket placed between two surfaces to create a seal, provide cushioning, anti-vibration or insulation. Silicone rubber (SI) strips can be used in many applications and can offer resistance to most exposures, except however when it comes into contact with fuel where standard silicones will deteriorate.
Fluorosilicone rubber is a blue coloured, long-lasting elastomer which remains stable even in extreme temperatures, but also offers enhanced chemical resistance to include fuels, oils, acids, alkalies and solvents. It is usually manufactured in continuous lengths at 915mm wide, which can then be used for the conversion of strips in a range of sizes.
Why Use Fluorosilicone Silicone Rubber Strips?
Strips manufactured using Fluorosilicone rubber offer a number of useful and high specification properties, alongside the superior fuel and chemical resistance, it also has a wide operating temperature range of -53°C to +260°C, resistance to weathering, UV and Ozone.
These unique properties of fluorosilicone make it suitable for use in industrial, aerospace and automotive industries for sealing, gasketing, impact protection and cushioning applications.
Advantages Of Using Fluorosilicone Rubber Strips & Potential Applications
All grades of Silicone rubber are generally very durable materials offering a number of excellent features and characteristics. When looking for gasket or sealing strips, Fluorosilicone rubber is often chosen as it is a very robust and long lasting material, which has a wide operating temperature range at both high and low extremes of around -53°C to +260°.
Other excellent properties of fluorosilicone rubber strips include UV, weather and ozone resistances, as well as having low taste and odour. Fluorosilicone offers enhanced resistance to non-polar solvents, oils, fuels including diesel, acids and alkaline chemicals, meaning strips cut from rolls or sheets of this material are perfect for use in sealing and gasketing in aerospace/aviation and automotive industries, in extreme temperature environments and to offer environmental insulation.
