High Temperature EPDM Sponge Sheet

High Temperature Epdm Sponge Rubber Sheets

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supplies a wide range of EPDM sponge sheets in various grades and densities, including High-Temperature EPDM sponge sheets. These high-performance sheets are produced in continuous rolls with standard thicknesses ranging from 3mm to 32mm, featuring a skin finish on both faces. Sheets can also be cut to sizes of 1m x 1m or 2m x 1m, giving customers flexibility for their applications.

Using our state-of-the-art splitting and laminating machinery, we can create bespoke thicknesses or laminate multiple layers to achieve greater depths. Our on-site conversion facilities allow us to supply sheets starting from just 1.5mm thick or convert them into pads, washers, gaskets, or strips, either plain or laminated with self-adhesives or foils.

What are High Temperature EPDM Sponge Rubber Sheets?

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, a polymer used to manufacture sponge sheets with excellent elastic and sealing properties. The High-Temperature variant retains all standard EPDM benefits but is specially formulated to withstand elevated temperatures, making it ideal for demanding industrial applications.

High-Temperature EPDM sheets are supplied in convenient 1m x 1m or 2m x 1m sizes for easy handling, and end-users can cut strips, washers, gaskets, or other custom parts as needed without purchasing bulk quantities.

Why use High Temperature EPDM Sponge Rubber Sheets?

High-Temperature EPDM sponge sheets are ideal for applications requiring UV, ozone, and weather resistance, combined with heat tolerance. They operate efficiently in temperatures from -50°C to +150°C while maintaining flexibility and sealing performance.

The non-porous, closed-cell structure makes the material moisture resistant and prevents mould or fungus growth, reducing condensation and corrosion. These sheets are widely used in construction, automotive interiors, electronics, lighting systems, ventilation, glazing, and door seals.

The Benefits of Using High Temperature EPDM Sponge Rubber

    • Wide temperature range: -50°C to +150°C

    • Excellent ozone, weathering, and UV resistance

    • Good thermal conductivity and insulation properties

    • Can be supplied plain or self-adhesive backed

    • Prevents condensation and corrosion

    • Closed-cell structure prevents bacteria and mould growth

The Advantages of Using High Temperature EPDM Sponge Rubber Sheets

High-Temperature EPDM sponge sheets are supplied in rolls or cut sheets with thicknesses from 3mm to 32mm. They can be split or laminated on-site to achieve custom non-standard thicknesses.

In addition to their temperature resistance, these sheets provide mechanical strength, thermal insulation, and moisture protection. Their chemical resistance extends to oils, solvents, grease, and salt water, making them suitable for demanding industries including:

    • HVAC systems

    • Refrigeration and pipelines

    • Automotive interiors

    • Solar panel installation

    • Steam systems

    • White goods manufacturing

    • Building and construction applications

    Grades of EPDM Sponge Available

ASG stocks multiple grades and densities of EPDM sponge, including:

    • Medium Density EPDM: Closed-cell, available in black or white, providing air, dust, and water-tight sealing. Operating temperature range: -20°C to +85°C. Flammability tested to FMVSS 302.

    • Semi-Open Cell EPDM: Combines flexibility of open-cell with water and air-tight properties once compressed. Ideal for sealing applications that require slight air/moisture ingress before compression.

    • Firm Grade EPDM Foam: Higher tear strength, less compression under load, suitable for automotive, marine, defence, white goods, and construction.
