Flame Retardant Neoprene Roll
Flame Retardant Neoprene Roll
Advanced Seals & Gaskets offer a vast range of materials in roll form from a multitude of manufacturers and suppliers, which includes a flame retardant (FR) neoprene sponge rolls. This material itself is manufactured in block form which is then used to convert into finished usable products.
Using state of the art machinery, we are able to join and split the blocks or buns down to neoprene sponge rolls starting at as little as 1 mm, in a standard size of 1 meter wide by 10meters long as standard, however as we carry out all our conversion onsite, we can manufacture these at longer or shorter lengths upon request.
Flame retardant neoprene sponge rolls can be supplied in full or cut and converted down into various other products such as gaskets, washers and strips, covered in a choice of adhesives or foils.
What are Flame Retardant Neoprene Sponge Rolls?
Flame retardant neoprene, used to manufacture neoprene sponge rolls, is also often referred to as polychloroprene or CR, it is one of many materials on offer from our vast catalogue.
This grey coloured, closed-cell, general-purpose material is very versatile and used to manufacture a number of our products, offering all of the properties of a standard neoprene such as good weathering, oil and chemical resistance, but with the addition of being used as a flame-resistant barrier for fire risk applications as it meets flammability tests of FMVSS302 / UL94-HF1.
Our standard flame retardant neoprene sponge rolls are manufactured and supplied at 10meters long, however as we convert the rolls on-site, we can offer these at sizes to order.

Why use Flame Retardant Neoprene Sponge Rolls?
Flame Retardant Neoprene sponge rubber has a range of desirable properties, which can be used within countless applications. Neoprene FR sponge rolls offer fair resistance to oils, acids and alkalis with good resistance to gases, UV, ozone, weathering and oxidation and its closed cell structure prevent mould and fungus growth.
It has a wide working temperature range of -40°C to +80℃ and is tested to Flame Resistance FMVSS302 and UL94-HF1 Pass. Flame Retardant Neoprene sponge rolls can be converted into a range of products such as air and watertight seals, weather strips, cut into gaskets, seals or washers or taken as a complete roll for conversion by customers and end-users as and when required.
The Advantages of Using Flame Retardant Neoprene Sponge Rolls
Flame retardant neoprene sponge is a premium grade material, manufactured to offer all the properties and features of standard neoprene sponge, but also conforms to flammability tests UL94-HF1 and FMVSS302 for use in applications where the risk of fire is present.
The material itself is long-lasting, with a wide operating temperature range that can be utilised for many indoor and outdoor applications. It’s easy to convert into many bespoke products, such as neoprene sponge rolls, using a range of techniques and processes and will hold self-adhesive and other backings well.
Under minimal compression, neoprene sponge rolls will provide excellent dust, air and watertight seal as well as good resistance against oil. Being a flexible and robust material, neoprene sponge rolls are often used in many applications including the production of flame retardant seals, within transport, chemical seals and weather strips.
Flame retardant neoprene sponge is another of ASG’s core materials, held in stock as a block, sheet and roll, ready for immediate despatch and conversion.

Different Types Available
Advanced Seals & Gaskets work with several material manufacturers, meaning our customers benefit from a choice of neoprene grades:
Neoprene sponge rubber is a versatile material, featuring good resilience and resistance to UV and ozone. It has a working temperature range of -40ºc to +115ºc, good chemical stability, and good general resistance to oils and petroleum-based fuels.
Firm Grade Neoprene sponge gaskets are also closed-cell, fire resistance tested to FMVSS 302, and has a density of 180kg (+/- 25), meaning they can be used in more heavy-duty applications, where less compression is needed to create a tight seal.
EPDM/Neoprene Blend sponge is an extremely versatile material, combining the properties of both types of sponge, excellent weathering and outdoor resistance of EPDM, and the oil/chemical resistance of neoprene the ideal choice for many outdoor sealing applications.
Please get in touch if you are unsure which grade of neoprene sponge you require for your gasket or would like samples for your own tests.
