Nitrile Cork Pads
Nitrile Cork Pads
Here at Advanced Seals & Gasket, we offer products manufactured from a vast range of materials, one of which is Nitrile cork pads. Using a combination of specialised machinery and details or samples provided by our customer, we can manufacture practically any sized pad, depending upon the size and quantity required, we have a selection of specialist machines each suited to produce parts with a minimal lead time.
Our smaller nitrile cork pads can be supplied as loose, individually cut parts, or kiss-cut on rolls for smaller pads where there is a very high quantity. Producing the pads in-house means we can tailor the material to meet the end-users exact needs in terms of shape, size, quantity, and finish, which can include foil, self-adhesive, or even laminations using different materials.
Nitrile cork pads are often used by customers for use within automotive, construction, manufacturing, and fuel industries where a material that is oil, fuel, hydrocarbon, and weather-resistant is required.
What are Nitrile Cork Pads?
Nitrile cork is produced using natural cork and nitrile rubber granules which are bonded together, creating a brown coloured material with black pigments creating a speckled appearance.
The nitrile adds properties to the cork such as resistance to oil, fuel, hydrocarbons, and water, with a durable physicality. Cork Pads are often used in a similar way to a gasket, whereby it is placed between two surfaces to create a low-pressure seal preventing the leakage of liquids or gas and to seal against the intrusion of dust and debris.
Our nitrile cork pads are converted onsite using sheets or rolls of material that have been manufactured in a range of standard thicknesses. As our nitrile cork pads are all bespoke made, we can make them into squares or rectangles with the option of radius corners, and also as circular or oval-shaped pads or ‘discs’. Cork pads are often used for sealing, noise/vibration, and thermal solutions.

Pads
ASG takes great pride in producing high-quality pads from a wide range of materials such as EPDM, neoprene, PVC, cork, acoustic foam, solid rubber, polyethylene, polyurethane to name a few.
Onsite production enables us to produce bespoke pads, within a minimal lead time whilst remaining cost-effective. Please get in touch with our team for further information on the many materials we offer.
Why use Nitrile Cork Pads?
Nitrile bonded cork pads are highly utilized in many industries including automotive, industrial, ventilation, lighting, and manufacturing industries, this is due to a number of desirable properties the material possess including resistance to weathering, water oil, and solvents, coupled with sound and vibration suppression - it's clear to see why nitrile bonded cork is so popular.
Nitrile cork is often used where a seal at temperatures up to 120℃ is required and where there is exposure to petrol. As our Nitrile bonded cork pads are manufactured in-house to order, we can produce them with a range of adhesives and coverings, or even laminated to other materials in which adds even more properties.
Different Grades
Cork is manufactured in various grades each of which can be in turn cut into pads. Cork pads are available in natural cork or bonded with other materials other than nitrile such as neoprene and synthetic rubber.
Natural cork holds thermal and sound suppressing properties, it also provides an excellent seal against air/dust and water.
Neoprene bonded cork has the core properties of cork while adding the base properties of neoprene such as the high water, fuel, oil, and weather resistant qualities, ensuring the material continues to perform as an excellent seal when exposed to UV rays and ozone.
Synthetic bonded cork is highly compressible and offers flexibility, oil/fuel resistance, and anti-vibration properties.

Advantages of Using Nitrile Cork Pads
Nitrile bonded cork pads hold many properties that are highly sought after in various industries including automotive, construction, manufacturing to mention a few.
Nitrile bonded cork pads are used in applications where the material is required to be resistant to the effect of the ozone, oils, fuels, and heat or where it is to be used for surface protection, sealing, spacing, and sound/vibration absorption within heavy machinery and mechanical components.
Nitrile bonded cork pads can also be found in sumps, valve covers, electrical transformers, electrical switch gears and to seal general covers and lids.
