Nomex Washers
Nomex Washers
Cut and pressed washers form a small part of ASG's converted products. These are crafted from top-quality materials sourced globally.
We can provide solutions for various sealing or insulating applications, including specific, hazardous, or demanding ones. Among our wide catalog of washers, we offer a range produced from electrical insulation materials, each with distinct properties to meet specific requirements.
Nomex boards and papers are among the electrically insulating materials we provide. They come in roll and sheet forms of various sizes and thicknesses, ranging from 0.05mm to 0.76mm for paper and 1mm to 4mm for boards, from which washers can be cut.
Our washers are manufactured in-house using high-spec presses and CNC machines, alongside a skilled workforce. This allows us to offer washers in various sizes and quantities, with plain or self-adhesive finishes on one or both sides. We provide the option of individually cut parts or kiss-cut in roll form for quick production and ease of use.

What are Nomex Washers
Nomex, a synthetic aromatic polyamide polymer, blends short fiber 'floc' for mechanical strength and 'fibrids,' microscopic binding particles. Nomex boards and papers gain increased density through 'calendering,' a process involving heat and pressure for a permanent fiber bond.
Nomex washers, with an inner diameter (ID) and outer diameter (OD), reduce friction, provide stability, and cushion fixtures like screws and bolts. These washers excel in high-temperature, dielectric strength, and chemical resistance applications.
Why use Nomex Washers?
Nomex, an electrical insulation material, plays a pivotal role in manufacturing washers for insulating applications, protecting conductors during installation, repair, or device use.
These electrical insulation washers, crafted from boards or papers, are tailored to withstand extreme temperatures, prevent electrical arcing, and serve various electrical insulation needs. Nomex washers excel in high temperatures, resist chemicals, provide electrical insulation, and offer flame retardancy.
Differences between Nomex Board and Nomex Paper?
Nomex boards, known as 'pressboard,' boast superior rigidity and greater thickness compared to their paper counterpart, offering exceptional thermal and mechanical properties.
These boards are produced in sheet form, with sizes reaching up to 6 meters by 3 meters, and are available in three different densities. They can be further transformed into finished components using saws or presses.
Nomex papers, on the other hand, are resilient and flexible, produced in continuous rolls with thicknesses ranging from 0.05mm to 0.76mm, depending on the chosen type among the four available. Nomex properties, including mechanical strength, flame resistance, corona resistance, and crucially, electrical insulation properties, vary according to the type.
The paper variants tend to be softer, more conformable, and can serve as cushioning materials in various applications.
Types of Electrical Insulation materials available
Acoustic foam gaskets offer numerous advantages across various industries, with their exceptional noise-dampening capabilities being a standout feature.
One of the primary advantages of acoustic foam gaskets stems from the material's open-cell structure, which effectively absorbs sound and provides cushioning.
In applications where acoustic foam gaskets are used, they serve a dual purpose, simultaneously cushioning materials and dampening noise by absorbing sound waves.

Types of Electrical Insulation Materials Available
Advanced Seals & Gaskets work with a multitude of material manufacturers, giving our customers more choice and ensuring we can offer a solution to just about any application, our most popular electrical insulation materials include:
Epoxy Glass - a green coloured material with good mechanical strength, good chemical, electrical and radiation resistance, low moisture absorption and a working temperature range of upto +120℃.
Kapton - is a polyamide film which offers a combination of mechanical and tear strength along with chemical, electrical and thermal properties that enables the gasket to withstand vibration and extreme temperatures in demanding environments.
Leatheroid - is a grey/blue coloured paper gasket material, also sometimes called Elephantide. This material is used within the electrical industry to insulate hot elements.
MICA - is a mineral based sheeting material which has excellent mechanical performances, is resistant to chemicals and provides electrical and therm insulation. MICA gaskets are often used to replace asbestos as they can withstand extremely high temperatures of up to 1000℃.
MYLAR is an extremely strong, flexible polyester film. MYLAR is an excellent insulation material with dielectric strength, moisture resistance and is an excellent insulation material.
Types of Electrical Insulation Materials Available
Presspahn is a brown coloured material, manufactured using kraft wood pulp. Presspahn sheets have excellent physical and mechanical properties, generally used as electrical insulation.
SRBF is resin bonded fibre material which is tough and rigid, with an operating temperature of 120℃, low water absorption and is resistant to wear, impact chemicals.
SRBP (synthetic resin bonded paper) is manufactured using layers of paper and synthetic resins. This material is suited to high and medium voltage application. SRBP has good mechanical and excellent electrical insulation properties, with low water absorption.
Valox is an excellent electrical insulation material which also offers flame retardant properties.
PTFE is a non- conductive plastic material used to produce electrical insulation sheets. PTFE sheets are suitable for high temperature applications and have a high melting temperature. This material has excellent dielectric properties and can be often found used in circuit boards.
PVC is a tough, lightweight abrasion, chemical and moisture resistant material which has good dielectric strength making it a great material to use for electrical insulation applications.
