Non-Asbestos Fibre Sheet
Non-Asbestos Fibre Sheet
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd offers a versatile material in the form of Non-asbestos fibre sheets, available in various thicknesses. These sheets are readily stocked and can be transformed into different products.
Non-asbestos fibre sheets are customizable, allowing customers to cut them to their desired dimensions and choose between plain or self-adhesive finishes. They are favored for their flexibility in covering expansive surfaces and producing strips, gaskets, washers, and pads as needed.
These sheets excel in applications with extreme conditions, including high heat, water, petrol, and natural gases. They come in multiple grades to accommodate various temperature and chemical exposures effectively.
Whether you require large surface coverage or customized shapes for specific applications, Non-asbestos fibre sheets from ASG provide the reliability and adaptability you need.
What are Non-Asbestos Fibre Sheets?
Non-asbestos fibre sheets consist of synthetic fibres mixed with a rubber binder and additives for unique properties. They are dyed for grade identification. These sheets are available in thicknesses from 0.25mm to 4mm.
From these sheets, various products like washers, gaskets, pads, and strips can be cut. Non-asbestos fibre sheets typically offer excellent resistance to high temperatures and pressures, ensuring effective sealing against water, oils, fuels, gas, saltwater, solvents, acids, and common manufacturing chemicals.

Why use Non-Asbestos Fibre Sheets?
Non-asbestos fiber is a superior alternative to asbestos, available in various formulations tailored for specific applications, offering desirable properties.
Aramid or non-organic fibers, when blended with materials like nitrile, EPDM, PTFE, or graphite, enhance its resistance to various elements.
Commonly used in high-pressure applications like compression chambers, air compressors, marine environments, and chemical processing industries.
Benefits of Non-Asbestos Fibre Sheets
- Water/steam resistance (selected grades)
- Chemical Resistant
- Fuel Resistant
- Impermeable To Gas
- Available in a range of grades
- Excellent Seal
Advantages of Using Non-Asbestos Fibre Sheets
The various grades of non-asbestos fibre materials come with countless advantages and properties that are ideal for many industries. Non-asbestos fibre sheets are preferred in applications where there is exposure to extreme heat, water, petrol and natural gases.
Non-asbestos sheets can be supplied in specifical sizes or converted into pre-cut parts including strips, pads, washers or gaskets, easily produced using one of our many presses, kiss-cut machines and even our oscillating knife for larger/thicker gaskets, all available plain or coated with one of many self-adhesives.
Novus
Klinger, a popular non-asbestos fiber material, offers a variety of grades tailored for various environments and applications. Each grade combines materials to provide high-level resistances and specific working temperatures.
Sheets made with Klinger generally resist water, petrol, oils, solvents, gases, steam, and some acids/alkalis. They are widely used in sealing applications within oil, gas, petrochemical, power generation, and aerospace industries.
Some popular Klinger grades include:
- C4324 (charcoal/anthracite): Aramid glass fiber and nitrile rubber, WRAS approved for potable water, suitable for oils and fuels, moderate resistance to steam, water, and natural gases, with a max temperature of 324°C.
- C4400 (blue): Aramid fibers and nitrile rubber, suitable for high-pressure environments, good resistance to air, water, steam, saltwater, fuel, oil, gas, and acids, with a max temperature of 400°C.
- C4430 (silver/grey): Premium grade with aramid fibers and a nitrile rubber binder, exceptional compressive strength, good resistance to hot water steam, oil, grease, fuel, alcohol, acids, and lubricants, with a max temperature of 430°C.
- C4500 (dark grey): Made from carbon fibers, nitrile rubber, and a heat-resistant additive, max temperature of 450°C, ideal for chemical industries, with resistance to oil, gases, salt solutions, fuels, alcohols, acids, hydrocarbons, refrigerants, and lubricants.
