Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supplies Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheets (also known as Polyester Urethane Foam, Ester-Based Polyurethane Foam, or Esterfoam) in a variety of grades and densities. These sheets are durable, flexible, and chemically resistant, making them ideal for packaging, filtration, acoustic, and industrial applications.
Compared with polyether foams, polyester foams are firmer, stronger, and more supportive. Their sparkly, denser texture makes them suitable for both standard and customised uses, including anti-static, electrostatic dissipative (ESD), and flame-retardant (FR) options.
Polyester Polyurethane Foam sheets, also known as Polyester Urethane Foam, Ester-Based Polyurethane Foam, or Esterfoam, are versatile products offered by Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd. They come in various grades and densities.
Polyester PU foam sheets are flexible, showcasing excellent tensile strength and chemical resistance. In contrast to Polyether foam sheets, they tend to be stiffer, stronger, and more supportive. They have a glittery appearance and a rougher, denser texture. Ester foam sheets are available in standard and can be custom-made in anti-static, conductive electrostatic dissipative (ESD), and Flame Retardant (FR) options.
While Ester foam sheets are often used in packaging applications, their rough texture and chemical instability may necessitate an additional protective material between the foam and the packaged object. Polyester Polyurethane raw material is manufactured in large master blocks or 'buns,' typically measuring 2 to 2.5 meters in length, 1 to 2 meters in width, and 175 to 1260 mm in thickness. These blocks are held in stock and can be cut into finished sheets starting from approximately 1.5mm thick. With in-house conversion and lamination services, we can not only cut Polyester sheets but also bond sheets together to create thicker products, laminate different materials to make composite sheets, and apply self-adhesives or foil facings.
What are Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheets
Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheets are produced by cutting large master blocks into precise thicknesses, starting from around 1.5mm. Like polyether, polyester PU belongs to the polyurethane family but offers greater rigidity, tensile strength, and chemical resistance.
Standard sheets are charcoal-coloured, created using polyester polyols, catalysts, and blowing agents to produce an open-cell foam. During production, additives can be included to meet fire codes or deliver antimicrobial, anti-static, or conductive ESD properties.

Why Use Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheet
Polyester PU foam sheets have a rougher surface and sparkly finish compared to polyether foams. They are ideal for applications requiring chemical resistance, as they withstand hydrocarbons, alcohols, and mechanical stress such as stretching and tearing.
Key features include:
- Fine, open-cell structure with uniform appearance
- Air and water permeability
- High abrasion and cut resistance
- Good tensile strength, withstanding temperatures from -30°C to +110°C
These sheets are often used in filtration, soundproofing, and vibration dampening over large areas. They can also be converted into washers, pads, gaskets, and strips. Using advanced in-house splitters, we can produce sheets as thin as 1.5mm in plain or self-adhesive finishes, as well as laminate materials for customised applications.
Available grades of Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheet
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd collaborates with multiple material manufacturers to provide a diverse range of polyurethane foam grades. Our most popular options include:
- Acoustic

Benefits of Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheet
- Excellent compressibility
- Cushioning and insulation capabilities
- Lightweight yet strong
- Low thermal conductivity
- Low water vapour transmission
- Mildew-resistant
- Effective sound absorption and vibration dampening
Advantages of Using Polyester Polyurethane Foam Sheets
Polyester foam sheets are chosen for their durability, flexibility, and versatility. The open-cell structure promotes breathability, allowing air circulation within the foam. They recover quickly after compression, making them ideal for cushioning and protective applications.
Additional advantages include:
- High tensile strength and tear resistance
- Resistant to mould, mildew, and fungus
- Chemical resistance to oils, grease, and water
- Performs across temperatures from -30°C to +110°C
- Suitable for gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide
Polyester foam can also be manufactured as Pink Anti-static Foam, which safely dissipates electrostatic charges for sensitive electronics. Its rigidity makes it suitable for sponges, mops, acoustic tiles, protective packaging, and filtration systems.
