Polyether Foam Sheet
Polyether Foam Sheet
Polyether Polyurethane Foam Sheets are just one of a vast range of products supplied by Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, available in different grades, densities and colours. As with other PU foams, Polyether foam sheets are suited to a wide range of applications as the material is highly versatile offering more resistance to oxidation and ageing in comparison to most other rubber and foams.
As well as being durable and lightweight, foam sheets are also cost-efficient making them a popular choice for many items classed as ‘long-life’ such as seat cushions and sofa fillings. Polyether Polyurethane foam is manufactured in very large master blocks or ‘buns’ usually ranging from around 2 to 2.5meters in length, 1 to 2 metres in width and 175 to 1260 mm in thickness, which are held in stock from which we can convert into finished sheets starting from as little as 1.5mm. As we offer in-house conversion and lamination services, we can not only split Polyether materials down, we can also laminate layers of different materials together to create composite sheets and apply a choice of self adhesives or foil facings.
What are Polyether Foam Rolls?
Sheets of Polyether Polyurethane foam are produced by splitting down master blocks of material into pre-measured thicknesses ranging from as little as around 1.5mm. Like Polyester, Polyether Polyurethane Foam is another member of the polymer family, with Polyether being a soft, open cell, low density variant, available in grey or white often used in low cost applications. Polyether PU foams are formulated and manufactured using a combination of polyether polyols, catalysts, and blowing agents which create the foam open cell texture.
During the manufacturing process, further additives can be added to the formulation in order to produce Polyether foam with additional properties such as flame retardancy, anti-static, anti-bacterial, and many more.
Polyether foam is known for its excellent cushioning and padding properties. It provides a soft and comfortable surface for items, making it ideal for packaging delicate or fragile items during shipping and transportation.
Polyether foam can absorb and disperse impact energy, which makes it suitable for protecting items from damage during handling and transit. This feature is especially valuable for sensitive electronics, glassware, and other fragile goods.
Polyether foam is lightweight, which helps reduce the overall weight of packaged products. This can lead to cost savings in shipping and make handling easier.
Polyether foam has a high level of resilience, meaning it can return to its original shape after being compressed. This property allows it to maintain its cushioning effectiveness over time, even with repeated use.
Polyether foam is naturally resistant to moisture and water, making it suitable for applications where exposure to humidity or damp conditions is a concern.
It exhibits good resistance to many chemicals and oils, which makes it suitable for use in industries where exposure to these substances is common.

Why use Polyether Polyurethane Foam Sheets?
Polyether Polyurethane Foams sheets of material look very much like those made from Polyester Foam, but are softer, lightweight, and don't exhibit the rough feel or sparkly appearance. Polyether raw materials are manufactured as large blocks of material which can be easily sawn and split down to sheets of material which can be supplied in a plain or self adhesive finish.
Polyether foam sheets can be taken by customers in full, or used by Advanced Seals in the conversion of smaller components such as strips, washers, gaskets and pads.
Polyether foam sheets have a number of desirable properties including excellent compressibility, meaning they will bounce back and recover quickly, this compressibility makes it a great choice of materials for cushioning and other repetitive impact applications.
Polyether foam sheets are flexible with a high tensile properties and tear resistance, resistance to mould, mildew and fungus growth as well as grease oil water and temperature with working temperature range of around -20°C to +120°C.
Polyether Polyurethane sheets are perfect for use in applications such as cushioning, vibration dampening, heat insulation or surface protection.

Advantages of using Polyether Polyurethane Foam Sheets
Our polyether polyurethane foam sheets are highly durable and versatile offering a vast range of desirable attributes as well as being cost effective allowing it to be used across several industries and applications.
These sheets of Polyether foams are available in grey or white colour options both with the same set of excellent properties. Made from an open cell foam, Polyether sheets are breathable, allowing air to circulate throughout its structure.
Polyether foam sheets offer excellent compressibility, meaning they will bounce back and recover quickly from repeated loading, this compressibility makes it a great choice of materials for cushioning applications.
Polyether foam sheets are flexible with a high tensile properties and tear resistance, resistance to mould, mildew and fungus growth as well as grease oil water and temperature remaining stable within a temperature range of around -20°C to +120°C. It’s soft composition makes the sheets ideal for use within sportswear, medical devices and more popularly packaging.
Due to the open cell structure of this particular foam sheet, they don’t hold moisture, are quick drying and allow some airflow, characteristics which are suitable for outdoor seating, filtration, speaker foams, etc. Polyether Polyurethane foam sheets and components cut from them can be found used in a range of sound and vibration dampening applications, cushioning, sealing, impact or bumper pads and even seals or gaskets within aerospace, automotive, machinery and appliances manufacturing.
