Polyethylene Foam Strip Manufacturers
Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of Polyethylene Foam Strips, converting hundreds of blocks into finished products each month. Our extensive storage facilities allow us to stock blocks (‘buns’), rolls, and sheets of polyethylene foam in a wide range of densities and colours, all ready for conversion. This ensures fast turnaround times for all customer orders.
Polyethylene foam is also known as block foam, PE foam, polyethylene sponge, or LDPE (low-density polyethylene) foam.
Polyethylene Foam Strip Conversion
Blocks of polyethylene foam can be split down to thicknesses starting from 1.5mm, typically in 2m x 1m sheets or rolls. Rolls are made by joining blocks together before splitting, and they can then be further converted into cut strips up to 100 meters long.
All polyethylene foam strips, also referred to as gasket tapes, sealing strips, or foam tapes, are made to order using advanced machinery including:
- Band saws
- Strippers
- Log cutters
- Presses
For high-volume small strips, a kiss-cutting option is available for faster production. Our in-house manufacturing allows complete oversight of the process, ensuring consistent quality and competitive pricing. Additionally, our on-site laminating service can supply strips that are plain or coated on one or both faces, with self-adhesives, foils, or laminated to other materials.
Quality Polyethylene Foam
Our products are manufactured under an ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System, ensuring both service and product quality meet the highest standards.

What Are Polyethylene Foam Strips?
Polyethylene foam strips are cut-to-length pieces used to provide sealing, cushioning, or insulation between surfaces. They can also be supplied as continuous rolls or coils for flexible end-user cutting.
Polyethylene foam belongs to the thermoplastic foam family and is chemically cross-linked during manufacturing, resulting in a lightweight, high-quality material with a uniform closed-cell structure. Its resistances, durability, and insulation properties make it suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
Densities available include 25kg, 30kg, 45kg, 60kg, 100kg, EEV, EVA, Conductive, Anti-Static, and Flame Retardant. All are supplied in 2m x 1m blocks, which can be joined, split into rolls or sheets, or further converted into strips and tapes.
Benefits of Using Polyethylene Foam
- Lightweight, strong, and durable
- Excellent impact and shock absorption
- Water-repellent and buoyant
- Resistant to chemicals, solvents, grease, and fluids
- Effective thermal and acoustic insulation
- Easy to cut, convert, and shape
Types of Polyethylene Foam Available

Why Use Polyethylene Foam Strips?
Polyethylene foam strips are versatile and can:
- Fill gaps and irregularities between surfaces
- Reduce noise and vibrations.
- Seal against air, gas, dust, and liquids.
- Cushion moving parts to prevent friction and damage
Polyethylene foams have low compression set, are resistant to water, oils, chemicals, and weather, and their closed-cell structure prevents mould or fungus growth. Additional benefits include ozone and UV resistance, durability against wear and tear, and a working temperature range of -60°C to +90°C.
These properties make PE foam strips suitable for mechanical, construction, HVAC, packaging, automotive, and sports applications, offering thermal insulation, noise and vibration control, and shock absorption.
Advantages of Using Polyethylene Foam Strips
Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) foam is ideal for strips and tapes with quick conversion times. Raw materials are manufactured and cured in block form, making them easy to split into sheets or rolls for strip production.
Key advantages:
- Versatile and cost-effective
- Customisable properties for different industries
- Durable, resilient, and closed-cell for sealing liquids, gases, and particles
- Excellent mechanical, thermal, and acoustic performance
- Easy to fabricate and laminate for specific applications
Polyethylene foam strips are widely used across theatre and production props, construction, building, HVAC, automotive, packaging, and sports industries, providing reliable protection, cushioning, and insulation.
