Silicone Rubber Extrusion
Silicone Rubber Extrusion, we boast both the expertise and the state-of-the-art facilities to offer an extensive array of silicone rubber extrusions. These come in various forms, ranging from uncomplicated cylindrical cords to intricate contoured components.
Our solid silicone extrusions are meticulously crafted to match specific gaps or spaces with the purpose of delivering protection, preventing the leakage or ingress of air, fluids, or gases, and enhancing aesthetics as edge trims or buffers.
Each of our extrusions is tailor-made. They are created based on customer-provided samples or drawings, serving as the foundation for crafting a tool or 'die' for producing the rubber profiles. Additionally, our customers can request small sample runs for trialing, ensuring the perfect fit and allowing for any necessary adjustments.
What are Silicone Rubber Extrusion?
Silicone (SI) rubber proves highly effective for producing extruded sealing profiles capable of withstanding a wide temperature range. It exhibits remarkable performance in the presence of UV radiation, weathering, ozone, and moisture. Silicone rubber is available in diverse grades, hardness levels, and colors, each carrying its unique set of characteristics, properties, and resistance capabilities, tailored to different exposures and environmental conditions.
The production process for silicone extrusions involves the transformation of raw silicone rubber material, known as compound, into precise shapes. This is accomplished through an extruder machine that operates under high pressure in conjunction with a specialized die. The machine forces the raw material through the die, forming the final extruded rubber profile. These profiles are produced in continuous lengths, maintaining a consistent cross-sectional shape that adheres to the customer's design requirements.
Silicone extrusions come in both 'solid' and 'hollow' variations. Solid shapes, like cords, are dense and compact, while hollow ones feature a central opening that runs the entire length of the extrusion, with the outer wall remaining intact. Among the commonly employed extrusion shapes are D-sections, P-sections, door seals, window seals, U-channels, and cords, many of which are available with a self-adhesive finish for ease of installation.

Why use Silicone Rubber Extrusion?
Silicone rubber extrusions excel in applications necessitating custom profiles and shapes, offering a convenient solution for consistent production in large quantities. These extrusions are favored by customers for their remarkable attributes. Silicone rubber boasts a broad operational temperature range spanning from -40℃ to +200°C, making it suitable for both hot and cold environments. High-temperature variations are also available for extreme heat conditions.
Furthermore, silicone rubber exhibits resistance to ozone, weathering, seawater, numerous chemicals, and fungal growth. It showcases exceptional tensile strength, tear-resistance, and electrical insulating properties. Available in various grades, thicknesses, and colors, solid silicone rubber extrusions find versatile applications, serving as effective seals against air, gas, and liquid. They offer vibration and rattle cushioning while providing surface protection.
Advantages of Silicone Rubber Extrusion
Silicone rubber offers custom extrusions to fit unique spaces, adaptable in quantity and finish. Depending on the silicone grade, various advantages emerge. These include flame retardancy, a broad operating temperature range, even greater when using High-Temperature grades, resilience to weathering, UV exposure, ozone, and chemicals, suitability for electrical insulation, and compliance with Food, Beverage, and pharmaceutical industry standards (FDA grades).
Silicone rubber extrusions come in multiple grades, colors, and shore hardness options. Shore hardness is measured with a shore durometer, indicating indentation resistance – a higher number reflects greater hardness, while a lower number signifies softer material. These versatile features cater to diverse applications.
