Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets

Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets

Advanced Seals & Gaskets (ASG) is one of the UK’s leading converters and suppliers of high-quality sponge, rubber, and plastic materials. We stock a wide variety of sheet materials sourced from top manufacturers to ensure premium performance, including our Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets range.

Slow recovery PVC foam is a closed-cell, low-density material prized for its sealing and insulation performance. Because it rebounds more slowly after compression, it’s beneficial where precise positioning and conforming to irregular surfaces are required.

We supply these sheets in roll form across thicknesses from 2 mm to 20 mm, widths of 1 m or 1.4 m, and roll lengths of up to 130 m (depending on thickness). We also offer cut-to-size sheets in 1 m or 2 m lengths.
Thanks to our in-house lamination and splitting capabilities, we can create bespoke thicknesses, join multiple layers, or bond to other materials such as foils or adhesives.

    • Standard Thicknesses: 2 mm to 20 mm

What Are Slow-Recovery PVC Foam Sheets?

PVC foam sheets, including slow recovery variants, are created by mixing PVC with polyurea compounds, then heating, expanding, and curing the mix. The precise control of expansion and curing stages determines the density and mechanical properties, resulting in continuous closed-cell foam rolls with excellent sealing, insulation, and durability features.

What sets slow recovery foam apart is its ability to “bounce back” more gradually after being compressed, giving you extra working time to fit or adjust seals before they settle into place.

Why Use Slow Recovery PVC Foam Sheets

Slow recovery PVC foam sheets retain all the advantages of standard PVC foam—such as UV stability, low moisture absorption, dimensional stability, and robust sealing against dust, air and liquids. But the slower recovery behaviour gives you extended flexibility when working with irregular shapes or hard-to-access areas.

These sheets are lightweight, flame-retardant, and robust—well-suited for cutting into components like moisture seals, gaskets, or filtration parts. Their adaptability makes them ideal when surfaces or gaps demand careful fitment over speed.

Benefits of Using Slow-Recovery PVC Foam

    • Ultra-lightweight yet durable

    • Delayed rebound allows precise placement.

    • Customisable thickness via splitting and lamination

    • Excellent moisture resistance and low water uptake

    • Flame-retardant (FMVSS 302)

    • Easy to cut and convert into bespoke shapes

    • Strong sealing against dust and moisture

    Advantages Over Other Foam Materials

Slow recovery PVC foam offers a unique combination of attributes that make it superior in specific applications. These include:

    • Ample acoustic and flame-retardant properties

    • Resistance to ozone, UV, rot, mould, and many solvents

    • Ideal for use in sealing, insulation, cushioning and filtration

    • Common in rooflight seals, glazing pads, refrigeration gaskets, and HVAC systems

    • The slower rebound allows fine adjustment during installation

    • Sheet format minimises waste — customers can cut only what they need

When you order from us, you benefit from large stock availability and fast turnaround. Sheets can be cut into gaskets, strips, washers, or pads for industries such as automotive, construction, electronics, HVAC, and more.

Different Grades of PVC Foam Available

Because of our strong supplier network, ASG can offer an extensive portfolio of PVC and related foam grades, often from stock, to meet demanding project lead times:

    • Fast Recovery PVC Foam

    • Dual-Density / “Fruit Selection” Foam

    • High-Density PVC Foam

    • Medium-Density PVC Foam

    • Low-Density PVC Foam
