Neoprene Rubber Strip

Neoprene Rubber Strip

At Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, we manufacture thousands of high-quality neoprene rubber strips daily. These strips are commonly referred to as glazing strips, weatherstrips, sealing strips, or isolation strips. Every strip is precision-manufactured by our skilled workforce using state-of-the-art machinery, following your samples, drawings, or specifications.

We produce made-to-measure neoprene rubber strips using band saws, strippers, log cutters, and presses, depending on the required size and quantity. By handling production in-house, we can closely monitor the process to deliver high-quality, competitively priced strips with fast turnaround times.

Our neoprene rubber strips are cut from rolls manufactured in standard thicknesses starting from 1mm, and can be supplied plain, self-adhesive-backed, or laminated with other materials. Strips are available in widths from 4mm and are provided in 10-meter coils or pre-cut lengths. Neoprene’s exceptional resistance to ageing, ozone, and weathering makes it ideal for outdoor applications, with additional grades available for more specific industry requirements.

What is Neoprene Rubber Strip?

Neoprene, also known as polychloroprene, is a synthetic rubber in black (white for FDA-approved grades) that offers chemical stability, flexibility, and durability across a wide range of temperatures.

Neoprene rubber strips are highly resilient, maintaining performance under extreme weather conditions and exposure to oil, chemicals, and ozone. Strips can be manufactured in hardness levels ranging from 40° to 70° Shore, measured using a Shore durometer to determine resistance to indentation. Higher numbers indicate a firmer material, while lower numbers indicate a softer material.

Neoprene strips are commonly used as sealing gaskets, placed between surfaces to create a low-pressure seal, preventing leakage of liquids, gases, dust, and debris.

    Why Use Neoprene Rubber Strip?

Neoprene rubber strips are valued for their versatility and resilience, making them suitable for countless applications across multiple industries. Key benefits include:

    • Excellent resistance to UV, ozone, weathering, and moderate resistance to oils (animal/vegetable) and inorganic salts

    • Wide operating temperature range of -20°C to 80°C (depending on grade)

    • Durable material with excellent abrasion resistance

    • Commonly used in construction, automotive, and industrial applications, such as window and door seals, pumps, hydraulics, and flanges.

    Different Grades

We work with a network of material suppliers to provide a range of neoprene rubber strip grades:

    • BS2752 (British Standard): High-performance neoprene with a working temperature range of -30°C to +120°C, excellent resistance to ageing, weathering, acids, oils, and ozone. Available in 40°, 50°, 60°, 70°, and 80° Shore hardness.

    • Flame-Retardant Neoprene: Continuous temperature tolerance from -30°C to +100°C, compliant with UL94-V0 and ISO 340 flammability standards.

    • Food Quality (FDA): White neoprene conforming to EC and FDA regulations, resistant to fats, greases, and vegetable oils, with higher tensile strength and operating temperature range of -30°C to +130°C, ideal for food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

We provide samples upon request to ensure you select the correct grade of neoprene rubber strip for your application.
