Abrasive Resistant Solid Rubber Sheets

Abrasive Resistant Rubber Sheets

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supplies and converts a comprehensive range of non-metallic materials, including abrasive-resistant solid rubber, designed for high-wear applications. Our abrasive-resistant rubber is manufactured in roll form, with thicknesses starting from 1.5mm and standard roll sizes of 1.4 meters wide by 10 meters long.

Using our on-site cutting and conversion facilities, we can supply sheets sized 1.4 meters x 1 or 2 meters, or more miniature custom sheets and pads. Abrasive-resistant rubber sheets can cover large surfaces, line chutes and containers, or be converted into gaskets, washers, pads, and strips for protecting machinery and equipment.

What are Abrasive-Resistant Solid Rubber Sheets?

Abrasion refers to the wear or erosion of a material caused by friction, impact, or mechanical contact with other surfaces.

Abrasive-resistant solid rubber is produced from high-quality natural or synthetic rubbers, offering exceptional resistance to wear, tear, and impact damage. It is ideal for applications where scraping, grinding, or mechanical corrosion could otherwise compromise components.

Manufactured in continuous rolls, abrasive-resistant rubber sheets can be cut down to size or converted into finished components, making them flexible for a wide range of industrial applications.

    Why Use Abrasive-Resistant Rubber Sheets?

Abrasive-resistant rubber sheets are ideal for industries where mechanical wear and friction are a concern. Their use offers:

    • Extended component lifespan, reducing the need for frequent replacements

    • Protection against mechanical damage, such as scraping, grinding, and corrosion

    • Resistance to ozone, weathering, UV, oil, and chemicals (grade-dependent)

These sheets are particularly effective where movement or friction causes wear, providing reliable surface protection and reducing maintenance costs.

    Advantages of Abrasive-Resistant Rubber Sheets

    • Extremely durable and resilient to wear and tear

    • Can cover large surfaces or be converted into sheets, gaskets, washers, and pads

    • Offers protection against mechanical impact, scraping, and corrosion

    • Reduces the risk of component or product failure, saving costs

    • Some grades offer additional resistance to ozone, weathering, UV radiation, oils, and chemicals.

    • Suitable for industrial machinery, chutes, containers, and protective linings

    Grades of Abrasion-Resistant Rubber

Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd supply a range of materials to suit various abrasion resistance requirements:

    Natural Rubber (NR)

    • Mechanically strong, ideal for slurry mixes, silo linings, gaskets, chutes, wear pads, and shot blast screening
    • Types include BS1154, red abrasion-resistant, white (FDA) abrasion-resistant, and tan shotblast rubber.

    Red Abrasion-Resistant Rubber

    • Tough, high-quality NR designed for quarry linings, slurry handling, target backing curtains, gaskets, seals, sleeves, and tank linings

    White Abrasion-Resistant Rubber

    • Softer NR compound for food processing, chute/hopper liners, and gaskets
    • Resistant to ketones, organic acids, alcohols, and aldehydes

    Shotblast (Tan Para) Rubber

    • Highly robust to chute lining, shot blast cabinet lining, gaskets, or seals
    • Moderate resistance to diluted acids and weak chemicals

    Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR)

    • Synthetic compound with excellent abrasion resistance, used for tyres, seals, sleeves, scraper blades, and buffer pads
    • Moderate resistance to weathering and ozone

    Butyl Rubber

    • Excellent thermal stability, abrasion, wear, impact, UV, and weathering resistance
    • Impermeable for air or gas sealing, tank linings, but limited exposure to petroleum

    EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)

    • Moderate abrasion resistance, excellent for weather, ozone, UV, water, and heat
    • Provides electrical insulation and anti-vibration properties

    Neoprene (Chloroprene)

    • Good abrasion resistance with oil, weather, ozone, and heat resistance
    • Ideal for sealing in harsh environments, including seawater exposure

    Nitrile Rubber (NBR)

    • Superior elastomer with excellent compression set, tear, and abrasion resistance
    • Resistant to oil, gasoline, solvents, hydraulic fluids, and fuels

    Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)

    • Excellent resistance to oil, chemicals, heat, and fuel, often used for tank lining and industrial applications.

Abrasive-resistant rubber sheets from Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd provide reliable, long-lasting protection in demanding industrial environments, ensuring components and surfaces remain safe and functional for extended periods.
