Shotblast Rubber Washers

Shotblast Rubber Washers

At Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd, we manufacture and supply a wide range of solid rubber washers, using high-performance materials engineered for demanding applications. One of our most durable materials is solid shotblast rubber, specially formulated to deliver superior tear strength and exceptional abrasion resistance.

Also known as Tan Para Rubber, solid shotblast rubber is produced in roll form with thicknesses starting at 1mm, allowing us to cut or press washers to any size or shape. Using state-of-the-art machinery and in-house conversion facilities, we produce precision-engineered washers tailored to your exact requirements. Whether you need a small sample for testing or a large production run, every washer is manufactured to your specifications using samples, CAD drawings, or templates to ensure a perfect fit.

Our production team selects from a range of cutting and pressing machinery, including atoms, autos, travelling head presses, and CNC (oscillating knife) systems, to ensure high quality, efficient production, and competitive pricing with reduced lead times.

    What are Shotblast Rubber Washers?

Solid Shotblast Rubber Washers are precision-cut flat rings featuring an outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), and thickness, cut from premium-grade shotblast rubber sheets or rolls. These washers are designed to create level surfaces, act as spacers, absorb vibration, and distribute pressure between fasteners such as nuts, bolts, and screws.

They are widely used in machinery and industrial equipment to provide abrasion resistance, noise reduction, and sealing between moving parts. Manufactured using natural latex, shotblast rubber produces a tan-coloured, elastic material with exceptional resilience and toughness—ideal for harsh environments and heavy-duty applications.

    Why Use Solid Rubber Washers?

Solid Shotblast Rubber is specifically engineered for harsh and demanding environments, offering outstanding tensile strength, tear resistance, and abrasion resistance. It also performs well against weak chemicals, dilute acids, and alkalis, making it suitable for various industrial, automotive, and engineering uses.

With a shore hardness of 45° and a working temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, Tan Para or Shotblast rubber washers provide long-lasting sealing and vibration-damping performance, even in abrasive or high-impact applications.

    Benefits of Using Shotblast Rubber

    • Excellent abrasion resistance

    • Strong and durable

    • High elasticity and tear strength

    • Can withstand harsh or abrasive environments

    • Good resistance to weak chemicals and alkalis

    • Wide working temperature range (-25°C to +70°C)

These properties make Shotblast Rubber Washers an ideal choice for heavy-duty machinery, construction applications, and industrial sealing solutions.

Different Types of Shotblast Rubber Available

Black Shotblast Rubber – Manufactured from a black abrasion-resistant natural rubber, this variant provides the same excellent tear strength as the Tan version, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C. It is highly durable, making it suitable for the most demanding construction and industrial applications.

Advantages of Using Solid Shotblast Rubber Washers

Choosing solid Shotblast or Tan Para rubber washers offers many advantages. This abrasion-resistant natural rubber is available in tan or black, with a hardness between 45°–50° on the Shore scale, ensuring excellent performance across diverse environments.

Since shotblast rubber is pre-manufactured in multiple thicknesses, production times for custom washers are faster, and there’s no need for additional splitting or shaping processes. The result is a cost-effective, high-quality washer that performs reliably under pressure.

Shotblast rubber washers are commonly used for:

    • Shot-blast cabinet seals and gaskets

    • Wear and impact protection

    • Pipe seals and vibration isolation

    • General industrial and heavy-duty sealing

These properties make Shotblast Rubber Washers a trusted choice for engineers and manufacturers seeking durability, reliability, and superior performance in harsh environments.
