Wras Epdm Rubber Sheets

WRAS EPDM Rubber Sheet

ASG stocks and supplies a wide range of non-metallic sheet materials, including EPDM rubber sheets designed for specialised industries and applications. Among these, WRAS-approved EPDM (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) is formulated for safe contact with potable water and is widely used in applications involving water intended for human consumption.

This material is manufactured in roll form, 1.6 metres wide, with thicknesses ranging from 1mm. Standard roll lengths are 10 metres for material up to 8mm thick, and 5 metres for thicker sheets. With our in-house conversion capabilities, these rolls can be cut into more miniature EPDM sheets of 1 or 2 metres, as well as custom-sized sheets and large pads. Our laminating service also allows the combination of solid rubber layers with adhesives, foils, or other materials for bespoke applications.

What are WRAS Solid EPDM Rubber Sheets?

WRAS-approved EPDM rubber sheets are specially formulated to be safe for potable water applications conforming to the BS 6920-1:2000 and BS 6920-1:2014 standards for non-metallic materials in contact with water intended for human consumption.

Manufactured in roll form with a cloth-impressed surface on both faces, these sheets provide an entirely impervious barrier, ensuring water remains contained. Standard roll widths are 1.6 metres, with lengths of 10 metres for material up to 8mm thick and 5 metres for thicker sheets. These rolls can also be converted into sheets, providing customers with the flexibility to cut components to their required dimensions.

WRAS EPDM sheets can be supplied with a variety of finishes, including foil, self-adhesive coatings, or laminated with other materials, making them versatile for a wide range of applications.

Why use WRAS Solid EPDM Rubber Sheets?

WRAS-approved solid EPDM sheets offer a broad operating temperature range from -40°C to +120°C, with suitability for wholesome water up to +23°C. They exhibit excellent resistance to weathering, ozone, ageing, and exposure to acids and bases, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.

The cloth-finished, impervious surface ensures water remains contained and protected from contamination when used as seals, washers, gaskets, or liners in pipework, water dispensers, and storage systems. Additionally, the material’s good tensile strength makes it suitable for demanding applications such as water pumps and protective barriers.

Customers often choose WRAS EPDM sheets for their flexibility, allowing them to cut components as needed for a range of applications.

    Different Grades Available

Advanced Seals & Gaskets works with multiple manufacturers to provide a variety of specialist EPDM grades, including:

FDA Grades: Food-quality EPDM available in blue and white. Suitable for food and pharmaceutical processing, this non-toxic material resists both animal and vegetable oils, and operates within a range of -25°C to +140°C.

Peroxide Cured EPDM: Peroxide curing (instead of sulphur) produces EPDM with superior chemical and oil resistance, higher temperature tolerance, and improved heat performance. Ideal for demanding industries, including nuclear facilities and high-performance engineering applications.

For guidance on selecting the most suitable grade of EPDM for your project, our team can provide expert advice, and samples are available for evaluation.
